Title: Clowns at the gym
Post by: GetItOnNY on March 21, 2009, 11:29:57 PM
It was 10:30 I was doing reseach, and I thought ,let me go hit some shoulders real quick. My workouts are pretty quick, I train brief but intense.
Anyways, I am there, and I see Vegas Vick the washed up lounge lizard.
This guy wears a tight t-shirt, with you guessed it workout  pants from the 80's.
He had his hair slicked back like John Travolta from Saturaday Night Fever, and a thick gold chain, to add more comedy to his already chaotic attire.
He walks around the gym sticking out his some what thick, but saggy chest. He had a body like a ham bone, lol.He was chewing gum doing sets with horrible form and looking around to see who was watching him.Its almost like he was a peacock strutting around, strutting his stuff. It was quite comical. He had to be 50 years old.He might have been a stud in his day, but this guy is done.He probalby wears open shirts when he goes out to bars, showing his chest hair, and throws his chest everythime soneone looks.I only watched him for a few seconds, but god is was funny.
Then we had Kareem-O-Wheat, Mr Fitness. He was wearing his Nike I think its called . Draft wear.It has the fabric that is stretchy and ventilated. He had a matching out fit, with masthing shoes. You can he went through alot of trouble to make sure every matched, and he looked proper.Anyways, I was walking to a cable machine and he beat me to it .So what does he, do?He takes his arms, wraps them around a fitness ball, then grabs the cables, while standing, and starts doing these fast twists.Making sure he goes huh inbetween each rep.
What the fu#$3 is with all he half of fags, being 160 lbs wanting to work there core? At a buck 60 you dont have much core to work.It is like trying to get the core out of a grape. You may be able to get a core out of an apple but not a grape.
If you want a strong core, just train like a man.If you do heavy bench, heavy squats, and even do heavy rows, your core is going to get strong.I never " worked my core' and my core is so strong from training heavy I have the symtery of a brick.Because of my large frame, and big bone structure.
This working your core bullshit is just men not having enough balls to train heavy or intense.I hate fintess balls they are a joke, and they needs to be popped and take out of gyms.People that use them dont put them back so they roll around the gym so we who train with weight have to trip over them. The only time I ever used a fitness ball was when I was doing a contest, and I leaned the ball against the wall and did 100 rep squats. It burns like hell and rips up your quads.
Anways I got a good shoulder training session in, even though there was a circus going on around me.

i think gym clowns are funny to have around providing they arent interfearing with your workout, the funny thing is at the same time we are looking at the way someone else dresses and laughing inside (BETWEEN SETS)our heads, someone is prolly laughing at our choice of gym attire.to be honest i dont really check out what people wear but yesterday this tall guy comes into the gym with more gold chains then MR T,lol.he had on a addidas white sweat suit, brand new addidas sneakers and matching addidas wristbands.the whole hour and a half i was there i think he might have did 4 sets,he walked around talking about march madness to his boys, lol.i dress like a bum when i train, actually my old sweats say bum equipment on them, lol, baggy sweat pants, old baggy sweathood and im good to go,as long as my sweats are clean im wearing them,i dont care about looking good in the gym,i care about looking good on the beach and staying healthy.im 44 years old and im just trying to get lean and stay healthy, this is a longevity and lifestyle thing for me,not a flash in the pan deal

where did you go to a gym or the circuc. if you train hard you shouldn't notice such things. one time when i was training a clown was doing  decline bench presses with a bar, the bar became trapped on his throat i waited till he started to turn blue  before i released him from his dilema, i then went on to extol the  virtues of the smith machine to him b-4 he attempted such folly again. he shook my hand and left the gym immeadiately, lesson learned.

Yeah, I think its funny when these young little punks come into the gym. They BS most of the time and don't workout at all or it seems. Only time I pay attention to this BS is when I'm on cardio. I see them on the cables, doing really fast half reps. There's some guys in there late 30's early 40 walking around thinking there the shit. They do a set walk away for 10 minutes to talk to any will socially deprived women in the gym wearing spandex lol. You got to love the mirror posers in the gym. You will be working out and then break for 45 secs to a minute. Then notice on the corner of my eye about 10 feet away from you. This guy flexing his abs in the mirror and that's all he has btw. Stick arms, stick legs, etc and he wants to impress you and everybody else that he has abs. I just shake my head and do another set lol.

...also gotta love the 40-50 year old gym rat who "knows" everyone and makes it a point to walk around for 30 minutes to "chit chat" before starting his workout...constantly talks "loud" and likes to yell across the gym to his buddies so everyone can see how "popular" he is.... :-[

Man every gym has its fair share of clowns,
I got 'advice' from a 6foot guy weighing about 160lbs last week that the 'only exercise that really builds triceps are dumbell kickbacks'
I just told him my 20inch armss beg to differ and he could say no more, nice guy but a clown
