Post by: MattT on March 22, 2009, 03:32:19 AM
Damn the crowds were harsh back then, booing hard for every name called!  How times have changed

That contest was the only time the Olympia has been held in London. Shame I was only five years old at the time - I would have gone.

Mind you the physiques were nothing special back then - Zane looked very small.

pretty cool to see that.  They were all pretty close.  Platz was smooth but the top 3 could have been either way.  Was that the only time Dickerson won?

Sport was much smaller then so most of the fans were more hardcore fans , I think Samir looked the best good enough to beat Dickerson

I've always wondered, who would throw a better elbow, Gordie Howe, or Chris Dickerson?

Def Chris. Those things should be registered lethal weapons.

guys, thats how it was back then.  most of the bodybuilders had jobs and couldnt afford to compete unless there was a sponsor.  there werent hundreds of supplement companies either.  Dickerson won many shows that year.  Remember he was an AAU Mr America, so was Viator.  That was one of the most coveted titles once.

can you imagine the reaction to a 280-300 pounder back then, I dont think the crowd could have taken it.  Some said Bertil Fox was overdeveloped at the time.
