Title: Strongman booth at the Arnold
Post by: Tre on March 22, 2009, 06:56:36 AM

Do you guys remember that?  They had an atlas stone, a 140-lb dumbbell with a huge handle, and a few other items.

Did any GetBiggers manage to lift anything??

I need to go to this show next year.  Is it cool for normal people. also?  I had a few clients who tried to get me to go.....but after being a member of this board for over 5 years, I'm not so sure the bb scene is for me.  However, i heard the Arnold is a sports festival and it's not like the Olympia (less schmoes and weirdos?)

The Arnold is a must-see once in your life.

The place is filled with schmoes and weirdos, but the overall crowd is so huge that you probably won't even notice any of us. :)

Thousands of people work hard to make sure that everyone who comes to the Arnold will be able to have a great time each year.

Make your plans now!

lol

I can actually get the dumbbell off the ground (well, I did last year anyway).  It's so funny to watch these huge guys fail time and again, thinking that they're just going to do a db row with the thing...even after they've been told that it's about grip strength.

i think you're talking about the Inch dumbbell and it's actually 170 pounds with a really thick handle, Mark Henry clean and pressed it. :o

You're normal.  I don't consider you a "schmoe". Clearly you are educated and successful.  I'm talking about the weirdos from that video that was done about female bodybuilding.  Or the guys who sniff underwear and all that creepy shit.

I plan on crossing the water to make it to an AC someday. Will be a while before I'm financially comfortable enough to do so though!

170, dayum!

The one I did was 120 or 130 and the one they had at the Arnold was 140.

That handle is thick as hell and it jacks most people up.  Plenty of people are strong enough to get it off the floor, but as soon as they do, it rolls right out of their hand because they don't have the grip.

Dear Lucius,

Are you ever going to resurrect Team Jesus again?

Thanks in advance for your answer.
