An IFBB PRO sanctioned competition that will open the doors for potential bodybuilders from the Middle East. “It’s an experience which is a step towards competing for Mr. Olympia competitions.”
As a competitor, expect an exciting and competitive event. The event will be open to all athletes interested in competing and finally be rewarded; and get the international exposure you always dreamt of.
This will be the IFBB qualifying event that will secure the Top three (3) finalists to secure a spot to compete for the upcoming 2010 Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas, Nevada USA. This particular event will also be graced by well known Olympians such as Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler, Dexter Jackson, Victor Martinez and Phil Heath.
On October 8th & 9th this year, only a few weeks after 2009 Mr. Olympia and another leg of competition under Joe Weider’s PRO in Berlin, these Olympians will meet-up to encourage bodybuilders in the region and elsewhere to gather round in Dubai for this prestigious event to bid in qualifying for the most sought after slots. All of them will provide excitement and support to all participating athletes in the competition.
On the first day of the event, there will a pre- judging competition for all qualified bodybuilders. The competition will give way for successful athletes to earn their PRO Card status; which will serve as a platform on where they can use in their bid to compete for other international competitions.
The winners of this competition will automatically qualify to participate on the following day’s main competition that will elevate their bid to qualify for 2010 Mr. Olympia and level themselves with the world’s top athletes.
All the winners, guests Olympians and IFBB officials and delegates shall be honored in a victory gala party right after the event.

I have not heard that, I do not know. It's still on the calendar, and their website is hyping the event big time. Bob, is this show still on? Every top name is listed to attend... that would be huge.

Ronnie's continually talked about comebacks because it keeps him relevant in ads. I'd be shocked to see him actually onstage again at the O.

It isn't automatic though. He would still have to be accepted by the IFBB committee first though.

In Dubai, India, IFBB shows are accurately and fairly judged on each competitors physique and not on how much a sponsor has paid or how much a trainer bribes a judge.

I have not heard anything about this show being cancelled. The show that was officially cancelled was the one in Germany, a week after the Olympia, moved to 2010.
For those of you who are geographically illiterate, Dubai (at least this city where the event is held) is in the UAE.
For those of you who don't know what the UAE stands for, it is the United Arab Emirates.

Ronnie shouldn't compete IMO. Certainly not unless his nerve issue affecting his L tricep and lat has resolved. In 2007, he started to lack detail in his legs. His upper body will always be superb and the legs big.

I know the promoter personally , Ahmad Kargar . He always puts too much efforts to extant bodybuilding in his country .

The IFBB World Amateur Championships were also going to be held in Dubai first week in November, but that has been canceled. No word yet where it will be held.

The IFBB and the mags get a lot of their ideas from Getbig. Hell, even the frickin' manufacturers of Advil lifted an advertising campaign straight from the pages of this board.
