any of you ever wonder what happened to the good old days of rap music?
what is this pathetic crap that is put together these days?
I am talking about all the monotone jibberish.
remember the gold days of Big Daddy Kane and Ice Tea and the Geto Boys.
how about NWA and 3rd Bass....... the stuff today leaves little to be desired in my estimation. Let's hear what you folks have to say regarding this matter.

run dmc, even cypress hill , you know, sendog been in the game for quite a long time, dr dre before going commercial, mc ren, arabian prince, eazy, those guys literally invented hiphop && rap, pac gave it the fuel needed to become what is today.
I liked more the stories in the lyrics than the ones used today, its all about pimping hoes and gold and shit like that, how to forget a classic:
woke up quick, at about noon
jus' thought that i had to be in compton soon
i gotta get drunk before the day begins
before my mother starts bitchin about ma friends

it's phased out basically .....just like motown and R&B soul and other genres of music
I'm 31, so I know what you mean. Today's music is all about getting out a "single" make a video for it and bang it in the clubs...that's it....that's a successful ALBUM nowadays.
Seriously I told somebody once before...give me some fine a$$ broads of all flavors, some ice bling, tight a$$ rides, a big house with a huge pool to shoot the video at and a catchy hook and I promise you I can get known over night.....that's all it takes now.
I have no beef with today's generation of music it's theres....I'm a huge R&b soul guy.....these guys today are R&B hip hop/pop now. They don't make complete albums either only singles.
I just listen to my old stuff now.

Hop hop will never be the same, i don't even listen to music anymore

there is plenty of good hip hop out there. fanboys just lost track because they used the television and radio to keep up. all the good stuff is lowkey now.
-
It's not just rap.
Pretty much all modern pop sucks ass.
-
take this track for example, prime example how hip hop is still doing great
