Who had the best rap ever with the stick!!
1. Bobby Heenan (no doubt about it!! No one else comes close to Heenan, also the best announcer ever!! Royal Rumble 1992 is one of his best commentating he's ever done. I still crack up even today. "Somebody get me a drink!!" A friggin GOD of wrestling)
2. Roddy Piper
3. Ric Flair
4. Dusty Rhodes
5. Superstar Billy Graham
Honorable Mention: Hulk Hogan
I know the Rock and few others were good. But they learned from these masters!!

Gorilla & Heenan
Gorilla & Jesse
The forerunners to JR & King.
-
quoting the great gorilla"IT'S A MISSCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE"OR "YA GOTTA BE KIDDING ME BRAIN''he's in a whole heap of trouble"
-
My favorite was always when Gorilla would invent bodyparts to sound scientific- "That move devastates the epidermal thoracic cortex region," or something to that effect. I could have listened to Monsoon with either Heenan or Ventura all day long- makes everyone since look amateur.
-
Jake Roberts, in his prime, had the best mic skills. He had an ominous way about him without ever yelling or screaming.
-
I know they used Heenan and Monsoon a lot to audition potential “announcer / commentator” talent.
They would always have the guy cut one babyface and one heel interview.
Heenan would always give them a hard time saying things like, “How did you get this job? Do you know someone with power?”
He said that most would come back with very stupid replies.
You have to be more than just a sportscaster to call a wrestling match or interview wrestlers.
You need personality, “schtick,” or boobies.

The thread topic is 'Top 5 WRESTLERS on the stick!!"

4. Austin
5. Scott Steiner

Don't leave out his Lordship, Lord Alfred Hayes? Monsoon used to call the shots with him as well.

Great guy. He was in a nursing home here in Dallas till the day he died. My dad would go up there every day and sit with him. The had to amputate his legs . He was a very nice man.

How old was he, Karl?
Did he have diabetes?

I remember Blackjack Mulligan being good on the mic in the Mid-Atlantic. In the WWF, he just sold those ridiculous fukking ice cream sammiches. Baron von Raschke was good too... "Dat is all da people need to know!!"
-
If you're a Raschke fan, you may be interested in the shoot interview he did a year or two ago.
Baron and Heenan were very good friends and The Brain has many, MANY good things to say about him.

I'll check that out. Thanks. I've read in several places that the Baron is a great guy.
