Title: Does Nature's Best ever make a bad batch?
Post by: Tre on April 02, 2009, 09:59:14 AM

Here's the 'scoop':

I bought some of the zero carb Isopure mango peach flavor a couple of months ago.  Mixed with water, it was easily one of the best protein drinks I'd ever tasted, especially of the no- or low-carb variety.

My supply ran out, so I re-ordered.

Well, this time, it's the most god-awful thing I've ever put in my mouth.  Remember that nasty whey flavor and residue that shakes had back in the 90s?  Well, that's what we're talking about here.  All the other WPI products I've used have mixed very smoothly, whereas this does not.

I know to an absolute certainty that the powder in these two new containers is *not* identical to what I had before, so the question becomes, did I get a bad batch this time?  Or did the original purchase not contain the whey content it should've?

Thanks in advance.

Again with the mysterious composition.  What's in the whey?  Nobody knows.

Contact the manufacturer.  Tell them you have a thread on Getbig's G&O if they give you any flack.  Please update us with their explanation.

Sell it back on internet for twice the price to a 13-year old kid. Also advise him to jump on the sauce immediately. Huge amounts will help you sell your nasty whey. Don't hesitate to post fake pics also.

Ok, I'll do that.  My initial thought was to ask bb.com to replace them, but going directly to the manufacturer is the right move.

Thanks.

years ago i buy a whey protein, from a french brand.
full of sugar, gain of fat, i wrote to the company, that i was thinking it was a weight gainer.
the owner looked angry and told me that "an error of packaging was possible."

so you buy whey, they give you gainer "an error of packaging"

Hey, thanks for that anecdote.

The first batch - the one I'm calling good - produced a nice, light fruit drink (just like their bottled RTDs).

The second (bad) batch produced a heavier fruit-with-milk drink that I don't like at all.

Which sounds more like yours?

Update:

Not content with just the two crappy tubs, I went into my local Max Muscle store and picked up another today and much to my delight, it was PERFECT.

Well, I got a bad batch, it happens.  So, I'll get these replaced and feel confident sticking with Isopure.

more like the first.  but one thing to keep in mind is that i dont think isopure actually produces their own protein, they contract the production out to someone else like 90% of the protien brands do
