do you think.. people when they age there metabolize gets slower or thats just due to lack of activity... speak on this older timers  ;D

The kreb cycle isn't running any slower in the old than in the young as far as I know but other factors will lead to flab.  Those who don't exercise will lose muscle mass from both inactivity and falling testosterone levels, so their calorie requirement drops.  Being a slothful adult instead of a zippy young man would probably result in a less favorable t4 to t3 conversion too.
