hahaha i remember this book from when i was 13. once you get beyond the initial growth spurt, the routines are pretty useless unless you're popping dbols like candy

Did you read the part where he advises to start every day/routine off with 10min of Roman Chair sit-ups? I don't think I can do them for much more than a minute or so...but 10min? Damn.

Yeah lol same here
I don't understand why he would recommend these workouts? I mean they're not very realistic at all are they? ???
I wasn't disregarding what you posted in the other thread by the way. I just wanted to see if I could get some discussion going now that I had the exact routine.

No offense taken, nor none implied. ;)
I think Arnold comes from the school of "more is better." He got to be really good at an early age- d-bols or not- and he did it using X amount of exercises and sets. So to him if he wanted to be bigger, better, more cut etc...that he "HAD" to add more of everything to his routine.
I was just reading the book today (material while dropping the kids off), and in one place he said "Each time I competed, I learned, I got better. I would learn what I needed to do and I'd more sets, more intensity and do what I had to to become the best." Something to that effect.
He didn't really know, or if he did he certainly doesn't even hint at knowing it, about periodization or how to back off.
But again, d-bols or not- it worked for him. Genetics, ain't they a bitch?
