Title: Pirates attack U.S. cargo ship but fail to get aboard
Post by: headhuntersix on April 14, 2009, 09:20:35 PM
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Liberty Sun, a U.S.-flagged cargo ship bound for Mombasa, Kenya, was attacked Tuesday by Somali pirates, according to a NATO source with direct knowledge of the matter.

The pirates never made it onto the ship. The vessel is now being escorted by a coalition ship, still bound for Mombasa.

The source could provide no details on where the vessel was attacked but said it is suspected the pirates were based on a mother ship somewhere in the area

Hope and Change at its finest....maybe if Barry went on TV and ate the other pirate, they leave us alone.

I am always amazed at how these Somalis could travel hundreds of miles out to sea and somhow know exactly where to go to find a tanker ship...amazing. Maybe they have GPS or a witch doctor who guides them byway of telepathy. Or just maybe these pirates are named CEE, EYE AY and they have an entirely different agenda than supposedly capturing oil tankers.

Here are some fotos of oil tankers...now exactly how the HELL do these supposed Somalis get on top of the ships which easily sit 100 to 200 feet above teh water line and have absolutely smooth straight sides of which nothing can be attached to in order to climb aboard...maybe the Somali pirates are actually SPIDER MAN

Piracy is rampant throughout the world.

They use GPS and its easy to track these ships since most ships actually follow predefined courses put into their own GPS.

As for boarding these ships. They use hooks and rope.

says they used ropes woven into a ladder.  maybe they just shot the rope up with something like a speargun.  Probably a lot of low tech ways to do it.  magnets would even work.

It also doesn't take much to pay people off at the docks to get shipping information on where these ships are going....

Bro, what's the matter with you lately?

It almost seems like you're hoping for these pirates to actually succeed in boarding a US ship and killing US citizens?  :-\

they should waste the fvckers, and leak the video on youtube.

Helluva deterrant to future pirates.  Watch a speedboat and crew get turned into pinkmist and splinters in 2.5 seconds.

Can't they just let the companies start strapping a 50 cal machine gun or three on their boat?  I mean, if someone runs up on my car shooting, I have every right to put bullets in them.  Why not change policy and either put a few military guys on the american ships or let them pack heat?  I mean, we're dropping 4 trillion on tarp now.  Woudln't it be cool to spend a few million on 500 or 1000 men to just ride boats all day and light shit up if need be?

Would you randomly open fire on a crowd of people at Ikea for no reason Rob?

Trojan Horse tactics are ideal for issues like this.

There is alot of call for that....loading up a few smaller ships with PMC's and having at it. I have seen the arguments for not arming regular sailors. If they fail to repel then u would or could have alot of dead sailors. This works because the companies actually get their ships back if they pay. I don't agree but thats what they think. If i were Mersk or these other guys I'd hire a PMC and put 4 man teams on a few ships. There are companies right now hiring SEALS and others just for this. Hugo, u were a Marine....i bet u could land a job with a smaller company.

Your last little "pirates testing Barry" rant backfired and blew up in your face.  Did you not learn anything?  Or do you just secretly enjoy the pwnage and humiliation that comes along with Obama stepping on your head each time you try it?

The lengths you go to in order to find "bitching material" is both amusing and pathetic.

no.

but if i was floating my boat and a boatload of guys with AKs started firing at me, i'd fire back.

My understanding is that the sailors are not allowed to be armed.

ROPES WOVEN INTO A LADDER?????

SHOT A ROPE UP TWO HUNDRED FEET WITH SPEARGUNS?????

MAGNETS????

COME ON ...Hugo i expect better of you... even I must roll my eyes now  ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

Oh I know maybe they used these
(http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31ioaakZTKL._SL500_AA280_.jpg)

Who knew the Somalis are watching infomercials and used Billy Mays as inspiration to capture oil tankers...UGH!!!

I amNOT going to imagine any ways these "PIRATES" supposedly climbed aboard a ship nearly two hundred feet above the water line. And if that were the case...what would be their reason for it??? There is no money on the tankers, no jewels, nothing of value. The oil is of no use being that it can not be used and can not be blown up in some type of terroristic threat...which if possible would only cause grave problems to the Somalis as their water would be heavily polluted.

Just admit its a CEE EYE AY operation...Ai Yi Yi WTF???

how much money do you want to bet on magnets.  I'm not saying they did it that way, I'm saying I know it's a low tech way of doing it.  I could in less than an hour rig a magnetic apparatus to climb a iron ship hull.

honestly a few decently arm individuals i would think could repeal a good number of pirates, or a few well placed .50 cals shit you could probably sink their damn boat.

OK..I bet you all of the money in my piggy bank (it a real pig by the way...lol). Now post a video of this magnetic apparatus and I want to see you scale the full two hundred feet of ANY ship...go to New York and scale the Intrepid...that'll make you famous as well...
