Fasting is actually quite good to do and there are quite a few numerous health benefits to it. It's been discussed on the nutrition board quite a bit already.

I fast once every six months or so, I live on juice and amino tabs for a week. It's amazing how good you feel after doing so.

I've done lots of short fasts. Mostly 24 hour, couple of 3 day and one 6 day. Most on water, some on green juices. Good stuff. The lifestyle should be the detox though, the detox detox is only necessary for people slacking on the lifestyle.

i have fasted twice before.
both times for around a week.
i only drank green tea, i lost around 20 lbs both times.
it was very hard, you have no energy or strength.

lol the funny thing is when i eat like total shit or i eat very little at all i dont even notice a change in muscle size. kind of weird taking in consideration these bbing magazines whom are promoting expensive heavy protein diets for every day of the week. makes you think if it is so important at all.

i did 3 days with nothing but fresh apple juice, the next 3 i only had wheat/cereal.
it was advised to do that to clean my colon. i lost a considerable amount of weight, and it pretty much did what i expected it to do. my farts started to smell of nothing which was cool too. i started "juicing" straight afterwards ;D.
and as a Muslim i fast for a month each year. from sunset till sundown.
