Naja hau rein, Ausnahmen bestätigen die Regel.
Erstens habe ich schon laengst mein 'Studium' abgeschlossen, und zwar vor 8 Jahren, Dann hab ich etwa 7 Jahre in aller Welt gearbeitet. Das jetztige Studium habe ich dieses Jahr angefangen und es hat nix mit dem alten abgeschlossenen Studium zu tun. Haelst du mich etwa fuer einen von diesen dummen, ewigen Studenten? Ihresgleichen kannte ich und kenne ich, als ich Deutschland gearbeitet hab, doch sowas gibt es nicht in den USA, weil sich niemand das leisten koennte. Aber ihr habt diese armseligen Studenten, die sich wegen ein paar hundert Euro den Zopf zerbrechen. Erbaermliches Gejammer. Dazu gehoere ich nicht. Ich bin nicht mal Deutscher, also bitte wirf mich nicht in einen Topf mit Leuten zusammen, mit denen ich nix zu tun hab.

Besides you still haven't defined what a 'Jew' is...it means nothing because most 'Jews' are indistinguishable from most Europeans. It is a cultural invention, a fiction, much like any other cultural idea/ideology.

It is a well know archaeological fact that Exodus is fiction, that there were no 400,000 Hebrew slaves wandering throught he desert. The Bible was not composed at that time, rather centuries later and is primarily a piece of propaganda designed to glorify a certain group of people.
Many archaeologists[22], including Israel Finkelstein, Ze'ev Herzog and William G. Dever, regard the Exodus as non-historical, at best containing a small germ of truth. In his book, The Bible Unearthed, Finkelstein points to the appearance of settlements in the central hill country around 1200 BCE, recognized by most archaeologists as the earliest settlements of the Israelites.[23] Using evidence from earlier periods, he shows a cyclical pattern to these highland settlements, corresponding to the state of the surrounding cultures. Finkelstein suggests that the local Canaanites would adapt their way of living from an agricultural lifestyle to a nomadic one and vice versa. Since I am interested in facts I will stick to archaeology not fundy driven propaganda. Since you clearly believe the Bible to be some sort of historical document you have just lost much credibility. You should read Finkelstein's work; it is one of the best out there.

No worries man. I'd also be interested to hear your opinion on the grouping of ancient people by language rather than by ethnicity, political structure, culture, etc. It seems odd to me. You couldn't apply that sort of classification today unless you were very well acquainted with the differences in dialect within a language (such as Iberian Spanish and Mexican Spanish, 2 different peoples with a common language). Also, languages evolve while the group remains the same. Americans of 1800 would speak a different English than modern day Americans. Wouldn't this sort of classification system require historians to be expert linguists? Why did it become the classification of choice?

Sorry about that. A Semitic language is simply a language which belongs to that language family, more technically they genetically related to each other. Arabic, Hebrew, Aramaic and the extinct Akkadian all belong to this group and share common grammatical and phonological features. When one posits a genetic language tree the assumption is that they all descend from a 'Proto-Language' so without a doubt, at some point in time likely MANY millenia ago, all the Semitic languages were the same and they broke off from each other.
With regards to your comments here, there are two types of language classification; genetic and typological. Genetic classification, whilst relying on on common phenomena found amongst several languages will also pair languages up that have diverged greatly. Typological classification is just that, matching languages up by type, irrespective of genetic relations, so for example it would be possible in this form of classification to match up a native American language with similar characteristics to English but not on a genetic basis. That said, it is often muddier than that.
True, languages change. The technical point where one starts calling them different things CAN be reasonably simple. We have a good historical example of this in the history of Romance languages. We know (we have many documents) that at some point in time the languages of Italy, France and Spain were nearly identical, however, as time passed each region developed its own idiosyncracies and eventually diverged from each other to the point of mutual unintelligibility. At that point we can start calling them separate languages. Still this ignores the issue of politics. Swedish and Norwegian are so similar to each other as to be 80% mutually intelligible but are called different languages, but in China you have completely different languages relegated to the status of 'dialects' by dint of political influence and will.

he does, and for the life of me, I can't see why people don't see it. I mean having the babies come out with their stomachs cest showing how fat they are. Or having a them in a room by themselves with donuts, and tons of fast food for them, just to watch what they are gonna do.
And then the paternity results, why doesn't he help these women have higher self esteem as to not get impregnated by dudes, so that they don't have to come on his show and be embarassed, shocked, or humiliated...Well that of course would take away from his ratings.
