I never got bullied, even though I was more of a lover than a fighter.
What happened was, this one day when I was in kindergarten, I got off the bus at school and was still crying because I didn't like the lunch Mom had packed for me. As I stood there sobbing, one of the meanest, toughest fifth graders (that school was K-5) came up and asked in a baby-talk voice, "What's wrong???" I angrily swung, and connected with his lip. Now obviously, he could have killed me, but he just laughed and said, "Ow, stupid kid." But other kids saw it and a myth began to grow that I had beaten up one of the meanest, toughest fifth graders, so NOBODY messed with me, even thought I would have been an easy target. :D

i wasn't either. I was more of the guy who stood up for other people. Not sure what that makes me. At least i didn't get twinkies for lunch though.

In Jr. High I had a bully...sort of. She gave me crap all the time and I was scared of her and I told my mom about it.
One time we were at the school after school hours for something...a basketball game? And I was walking down the hall w/my mom and my bully came up behind me and started saying stuff.
My mom asked if that was her. I said yes. My mom swung around and put her finger in the girl's face and said "If you don't leave my daughter alone, I'll get my brothers to shave your head!"
The girl tried to befriend me after that.
My mom is scary.
I had another almost bully in high school who started giving me a hard time in the hall one day and I punched her in the arm. She fell to the floor and made a hilarious scene. We became friends.

Only Twice in my life have I been bullied.
The first time was in highschool.
A bunch of girls held me captive for 3 hrs, threatening to shave my head, and stole all my jewellry. I found it very frustrating. I was quite outnumbered, but it filled me with anger, rage, and frustration, more so than fear. Not so much because of me. I was scared because of my best friend. She discovered what had occurred and placed herself in the situation. There was no way she was going to let me take them on alone, but I didn't want to see her getting hurt. In addition, one of the girls on the other side, had ties to someone, who had ties to me. I knew that if we fought, and she got hurt, it would negatively impact the person she had ties to, which would negatively impact the person I had ties to, and cause a rift in their relationship, and vice versa... so it was very frustrating indeed. How to deal with the situation without innocent people I cared about getting hurt either physically or emotionally. So... in the end, we brokered a temporary truce wherein I would give up my jewellry, and my best friend & I would be free to go.
I can't tell you the anger & rage I was filled with as a result. In a clear and fleeting lucid moment of sanity, I permanently precluded all possibility of myself acting in a way that would emotionally hurt those I cared about, while I still had the chance. I named the girl who had ties to someone who I had ties to. This permanently prevented me from taking any action against her, since I knew the cops would be at my door in a NY minute if she so much as stubbed her toe walking down the sidewalk. Thank goodness for moments of sanity... no matter how fleeting. She was the ringleader, and the one for whom I felt the most rage & animosity against. Long story short. I got the jewellry back within 24 hrs. Fortunately, I forgave some of the girls before the universe avenged me, ...and for the other girls whose names I kept out of it, ...well, lets just say they weren't so lucky. They ended up in a very nasty accident. The worst outcomes of which, one died, ...the other is wheelchair bound for life. :-X

It doesn't always work like that. Sometimes you just get yourself killed. Like I said, the ringleader had ties to someone I had ties to, and he made sure her intentions were revealed to me. I was somewhat prepared for it, but not completely. The only thing that saved them that day, was the fact that I overestimated them. I thought that they would have at least planned it better, and expected them to take me to a remote area. I didn't expect it to occur in school. I didn't have a silencer, and loud noises have a tendency to attract alot of attention. Walking away from a remote field without looking back was something I was prepared to do. Walking away from a schoolful of witnesses, is a little trickier. My best friend showing up certainly didn't help matters either, and she refused to leave unless she could walk out with me. She had no idea what I was carrying, and I wasn't about to mix her up in what I had planned. Too many witnesses and not enough bullets so to speak, and I was not prepared to take out all the witnesses present, or capable of taking out all the ones who would have been attracted onto the scene. So I was rather frustrated to say the least. I had to bide my time, and subdue my rage until a more appropriate time to unleash it.
Don't fuck with people. Some of the sweetest, mildest, gentlest souls can be capable of harsh retribution.
You never know what lurks under the surface, ...even your own surface.

I got teased for my hair from the boys, but other than that, nope never bullied.
I have never bullied anyone either, f'd with people 8) of course, but never plain mean just to be mean bullying.

just reposting what i already posted on another thread...
first time i encountered a bully he ws much bigger than myself and had 3 other kids with him...
it ws at an arcade and he basically asked me to leave or get beat(he wanted to play the game i ws playing)....then he pushed me....
i quitely walked home grabbed around 4 servants , went back to the arcade and we beat the bloody (and i mean bloody ) crap out of those kids....i think one of em wet his pants when 2 of our servants put a knife to him...(i say "to" not in btw)
thats the only way to deal with bullies...come back..HARD!

He was always doing something to push my buttons and then would run into his house and stand at the window sticking his tongue out at me like "ha ha, you can't get me". One day, I don't recall exactly what he did; probably squirting me with a super soaker or something and then ran to the safety of his house. I followed him right into his living room and pounded the crap out of him. Meanwhile, his mother calls my mom and says "if she can't play nice, she's going to have to go home" to which my mother replied "I don't think she's playing" ;D Another time, walking home from school, he pulled some crap and then tried taking a shortcut through someone's yard and got stuck in their fence at which point I beat the crap out of him again. I think that was the last time we ever had any interaction.

It's not what you think. It wasn't an ongoing thing. It was deep seated resentments and jealousies coming to a head. Like I said, the ringleader and I had mutual ties. This caused issues and resentments on both our parts that only continued to essentially build. Because of those ties, we were never really able to come together to resolve our differences, but we had each given the other "immunity" so to speak. Then a misunderstanding occured between me an another girl, who herself was extremely jealous of me, and the ringleader saw this as her opportunity to "right an injustice". The girl with whom I had the misunderstanding saw it as an opportunity to get satisfaction by spreading lies and rumours, and using those lies to manipulate. The ringleader actually thought she was defending someone unable to defend themselves. The truth was she was manipulated into committing an injustice, and our mutual dislike of each other, made her manipulation all that easier. After all was said and done... none of those involved were very happy with the outcome. I ran into the girl who did the manipulation about 2 years later, she was with 5 friends, and I was by myself. I didn't have a gun with me, so I wasn't worried about going up against her 6:1. I went for her, and she literally lost all control of her bowels. The 2 girls & 3 guys she was with were too scared to try to defend her. She had no defense, and they did NOT want a piece of that rage that was coming out of me. To this very day, she is still terrified of me. A couple years ago, she was sitting in a movie theatre, and I flashed across the screen, ...she wet herself.

Poor Jimmy. :'( He was a very big, strong, husky Greek kid who was raised to NEVER EVER hit a girl ...under any circumstances. He was a tough kid, stronger than any other boy in the class and knew how to handle himself, ...except when it came to girls. He absolutely refused to hit back. He'd get into it verbally, but if it got physical, he was a goner. His only choices were sit there and take the beating, ...or run. We had our fun with him for a while. He became a very fast runner. {lol} He would see us coming, and he'd run like the devil himself was chasing him. He never got any crap from the boys because of it. I think they respected him. He did win in the end, cause we could never catch him, and we eventually got tired of chasing him. ;D

I was talking about incidents in grade 12 and grade 5. I'd like to think I've matured somewhat since grade school. :-\

There's nothing wrong with the safe & responsible use of guns for hunting and defense.
When used as an object for offensive action, ...that's a whole other thing. There's too much of that.

I was bullied up until the end of 9th grade. I was always very small and easily targetted. I finally got pushed too far. A girl who had been picking on me the whole year started pushing me in the back down the hallway of my school. When I turned around to tell her to stop she sucker punched me in the face knocking my glasses off. The fell to the ground and broke. I knew I was gonna get an ass beating when I got home from my mother so I decided I wasn't going down alone. I kicked the living shit out of this girl and ended up giving her a concusion. Her mother had to take her to the hospital and then she called my mother expecting us to foot the bill. My mother told the woman to basically "F" off seeing her daughter had been bullying me for quite some time and broke my glasses. It was verified by teachers and the matter was dropped. The girl never bothered me again and from that point on...I never backed down from anyone. :D
But now I'm much bigger and everyone likes me. lol

In High School I was a horrid little creature. My cheer leading squad was almost as bad as those ones you see in Hollywood movies.
I could try to put a nice spin on it like some have tried such as I never got into a fight I started, I never pushed anybody physically or I found it funny so the rest of the world must find it so as well.
When my friends and I started clubbing we would play games at times and see whom we could get to crash and burn the worst, we even had a prize for the winner.
I am not proud of it, but as it is said you can't rewind a single moment of your life, so it is all part of the package that is me...
maybe that is why I am still single, damn beotches!

On a certain really rather good American BB website forum a couple of years ago. T'was my first exposure to webchat. I had unfortunately landed there by mistake and under strange circumstances.
The funny thing was: I was more bullied by the female contingent.
I found that really really extremely odd.

There is some supreme denial about bullying here.
Apparently I am the only bully here as I admitted, but I am pretty sure I never pushed you down in the playground.
I also am pretty sure I don't have any "fans" or maybe I have and haven't hit that level of delusion to see them.
Little advice though. North Americans really don't want to hear the truth, even if they ask for it.

And I've since learned (by surfing many various other webchat sites) that cyber-bullying is the norm. Guess I asked for it?
What I find weird is that I don't remember any kind of "bullying" from my childhood. In real life. But nowadays it's rife, it seems to be a huge part of our new blame someone else culture.
When I was a happy-go-lucky child, we simply called it competition - or survival of the fittest. Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me, or words to that effect.

OS, I find both the above quotes from you difficult to comprehend. I lived in Toronto (in North America) aged 14 to 30 and therefore consider myself bi-polar. That sounds so very Canadian doesn't it...

About the truth.
Most people on this side of the pond will ask opinions but they are seeking gratification and not really the truth.
If they buy new shoes, clothes, hair, car, etc...
They are really just looking for compliments. If you tell them that they are ugly, make them look fat. or any or the like.
They will get offended. Even it is true, they don't want to hear it.
I have a friend who has only been in the US a few years and she pointed it out to me.
Since I have been paying attention to it, it is quite obvious now.
So now when I want an honest opinion I go to her at then I will know the truth for sure.

Yeah, yeah, I think that's a phrase and phase coined in the 70s or 80s: reverse psychology. You'd say "does my head look big in this?" and we would judge our mates by their response.
Not sure. Don't think it's a US-UK thing. Although I used to reckon British parents etc would say "Why don't you just be normal and marry the butcher's son" (in a small begrudging 8 point font) whereas American parents and friends etc would say "You could grow up to be President, Go For It" in BOLD CAPS
I used to think Americans were more positive with a huge 'go-for-it we came from nothing' attitude whereas Brits and Europeans are more conservative and tend to think it's good be be like everyone else and we ought be grateful for what we may or may not achieve (but for goodness sake don't try too hard or you'll be laughed at or bullied.
Glad I had the North American upbringing though. Didn't learn much in school, skipped mostly. But I learned a great deal about the way the world thinks.
Reckon people get bullied if they allow themselves to be. Depends upon how you feel at the time?
