so it looks like I won't be able to deploy back to Afghanistan for at least another year, maybe over two!
I know American soldiers deploy longer and more often, so twice I've tried to enlist
unfortunately, both times I was told I need a bs residency visa or some such paperwork that can take years to get
fit to fight, eager to serve, combat veteran - frustrated >:(

Hey man, either PM me or just explain what the hell the problem is.

as a Canadian citizen I'm not eligible to join the US army or Marines unless I have a work visa, temporary residency, or some other documents that can take a long time to get
I just don't understand how the US can be hurting for troops but still throw red tape at Canadians who want to join. I had always thought you signed up and after your service you became a citizen but apparently it's the other way around
I got home about a month ago from my tour w/ the Canadian army and I'm itching to back over. Unfortunately because of unit rotations, limited tour spots, and a whack of new guys, I probably won't be able to redeploy for a while.
I've still got a couple years left on my contract, so I'm venting more than anything else. Battalion life is nowhere near as sweet as being on tour. Exercises and ranges become a chore after doing the real thing . . .

I don't understand it either. Who have u talked to? U can join and then become a citizen, they have citizenship ceremonies all the time, which I'm sure u saw while overseas. I guess since u still have time on ur contract, start the work visa paperwork. They will make u go to basic/boot but if u join the Army I think I can figure out rotation scheduals and u could get that in ur contract. If u go marines, unless u go to Oki 3rd Mar Div, u will deploy regardless.
I think with this crap u just need to keep talking to people and don't take no for an answer. U could contact a military liason office somewhere, that has Canadian's. Somebody up there should easily be able to help u.

Contact 'Rahm Emmanuel' directly.
I am sure he could by pass the 'Red tape' for you.
Another ass on seat in the great ship 'Zionist control' of Pakistan.
I mean Afghanistan is just to big to secure that pipeline, much better to carve out a chunk in the middle of Pakistan.
Look at the map. from the war-lords (Opium dealers) who will demand protection $$ it is just too much hassle.
Pakistan will be FAR easier.
