Title: My lifts
Post by: Magnus on May 07, 2009, 09:18:38 AM

...are pathetic I know.

Which is the lift that you think I'm more good/bad at?

I ask it because since I can't squat because of ankles problems I would like to get in a single-lift meet in (a very distant) future.

Now my weight is 188 lbs with 20 to 22% bodyfat approx, and I'm 6' tall. These 1RM were done this week.

- BB Flat Bench Press                           158.5 x 1
- Deadlift                                           255.5 x 1 - 246.6 x 3
- BB Row                                           136.5 x 1
- EZ Curls                                          101.3 x 1
- BB Military Press                                110  x 1
- EZ bar Skull Crushers                          83.7 x 1
- Dips                                                Bwt x 4
- Chins                                               Bwt x 2

I'll give you enough time to laugh...then please answer me   :)

Being as all figures are in Kilos I think you are doing fine. ;)

In all seriousness though, why dont you do a push pull meet? And its best not to wait "until you're ready." Just jump in.

Like  Lift4Size said, find a  bench /deadlift meet.
as far as waiting till your ready. forget that!  you will be missing out on a lot of fun.

Every meet I ever entered, my one & only goal was to improve, to lift more at this meet then I did in the last. If I did that then I won.... no matter where I finished in the standings.  I can't control what other lifters do, nor did I pay attention to what they were lifting.  Sure I cheered them on! but I didn't pay attention to there numbers. After I was done I would fine out if I finished in the top 3 if I did I would wait for the awards. If not I found the winners of my class told them congrats! and left . Feeling great or not so great depending on how I did. LOL

Find a push/ pull meet at least 8 weeks away, train for it and go have a blast.

the only 3 poundages you should worry about are your squat, deadlift and bench.....

drive those three up and everything else will fall into place ...

and at 6' and 190 with 20% I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess your diet is absolute shit !

clean that up and you'll see some gains !

Some great lifts there. If they're in kg I'm not sure how your dips are quite so low when you have such huge military press, bench and skull crush numbers. Great stats nonetheless  8)

Nothing embarrassing about your lifts at all. Your delts and tris must be strong as hell. Stronger than mine anyway!  :P Have you tried adding weight on dips? I'm sure you could seeing as your other upper body lifts are so strong

your max seems low, you should be ripping at least 270

You should start a training thread in the training logs area. It's good to keep tabs on your progress and get advice  :)
