Title: Honest question for all Obama supporters. I'm serious.
Post by: Soul Crusher on May 12, 2009, 08:06:16 AM
We all go back and forth about about what we think about the Admn's policies, etc etc.

For those of you who support what Obama is doing, I have the following questions:

1.  At what point do you think it is fair to judge whether his policies are working?

2.  What would it take for you to no longer support Obama's policies?

I am being serious on this question.

What does HR 875 involve?

They will NEVER admit he failed at anything. They will continue to blame Bush for ANYTHING that goes wrong and praise Obama for anything that goes right.

There are some dramatics by oponents so you won't find the "exact" wording in the bill but it's not hard to read between the lines on this one.  Really bad shit on this one imo.

I skimmed most of the thread.

So basically we are talking about over regulation that would penalize the small farmer?

1. Depends on the policy, how long it was designed to take and if it meets the standards and requirements within that time frame.

2. There is no all or nothing nor should there be.  You don`t have to polarize yourself and support 100 percent or 0 percent of his policies as the only default choice.  Also, we have to be careful just who is to hold accountable for specific policies as a lot are certainly historic in nature, many Presidential Terms old, and certainly not attributable to any one person.  Also, certain policies may be crafted and signed on to by even by his political "opponents".   So we have to be careful what we characterize as strictly "an Obama policy".

Define "Junk Food" and how "Junk Food" is not an agreeable part of a diet.

If you like, we can go picture for picture of our meals and how we look.  We can also compare blood charts if you like to see who is healthier. :)

Fox is one portion of the news, not even remotely close to the totality of all the major networks, newspapers, print mags, etc.

It was a jest 'Hugo' - a portion of the text from your link...............

Outstanding as of June 1, 1938, were 1,241,816 common shares held by 4,300 men, 4,084 women, 2,708 trusts, groups, institutions. Mr. Queeny holds only 3.4% has beneficial interest in about 4.5% more through relatives and trusts. One officer of the company owns 1.47%, no others own more than .25%.

Always the best way to try the 'old smoke & mirrors'  that one - trust groups/institutions  ;)

WTF is your point???, I really don't give two shits what evil group or idiot shareholders own the fucking thing.  I just grabed the first google link for you since you asked.  It's completely fucking irrelevant to my bitch about the company.  I have many bitches about many corporations.  Much of that comes with the knowledge and I have stated it here many times before that these companies are like mindless fucking viruses and or terminators.  I do not consider a corporation a person as a corporation is legally considered.  So I'm not really one to try to seek one living breathing "evil doer" to blame the shit on.  the company, is a fucking virus or terminator, not a person.

Hmmm. This is an interesting question. Some might say "loaded".

When the events of 9/11 occurred, many people felt that Bush & Co. deserved a pass because he'd only been in office for only eight months.  Seven years later, Bush supporters favored a surge for a war that had dragged on way longer than the few weeks the administration had initially promised. Yet, even right up until the election, there were some members of this very board who claimed the Bush regime had been successful.

100 days is an arbitrary mark on the timeline. The truth is different people expect different things out of our president. Some people who didn't support him have already stated that they hope his policies fail. You can begin judgment at any time, but you can't expect others to be obligated to share your evaluation, which is what the question seems to imply.

I had an "interesting" conversation over the weekend with an Obama supporter.  I asked him why gas prices are rising again.  Answer..."it's business...what the oil companies do...blah, blah, blah...supply and demand...."  My response was "Oh really.  For the last 8 years it was the President controlling that, now the President doesn't control it?"  He knew exactly what I meant as I've listened to this guy blame everything except cancer on Bush.....he slinked away like the spineless turd that he is.

And I know that it's no more Obama's "fault" than it was Bush's "fault."  ::)

right and the only way to prove to my leftist friends that the price of oil has pretty much nothing to do with who the elected president is at the time was for barry to win and nothing to change.  that happened and now its funny but none of them want to talk about it.

The price of oil is rising very quick and once inflation kicks in, will exceed what we were paying last summer.

Is Obama going to be blamed????

We do need more time to evaluate Obama's programs but it certainly seems that many mainstream folks and media are excessively hesitant to criticize this president, which is dangerous.
