How about a tribute to some of the guys who made bodybuilding fun to follow? I'm on the verge of losing my interest with today's scene.
-
Will we ever see a bodybuilder as complete as Chris Cormier? With lines and conditioning like Shawn Ray? The freaky mass of Dillett?
-
Genetics, genetics, genetics!
-
I wouldn't say best, it made it's peak in the 90's and officially died in the 00's.
-
Sadly this thread hits the nail on the head. The 90s was far and away the most progressive decade for bodybuilding. Dorian & Ronnie both took bodybuilding to new heights. Kevin, Cormier, Ray, Flex, Nasser & Co. would all dominate today's pro shows.

90s fucking rock man, yeah the "two-k's" suck....suck totally... fuck "two-k's"
-
The 90s - bodybuilding's best decade!= 100% True 8)
-
a little bit nostalgic but it's true.
nobody make me dream today.
-
True for the women's side as well.
-
Men in thongs ain't what they used to be.
-
I have no interest in today's scene, but to be honest, I thought the guys looked too freaky in the 90s as well-although, now when I look at them, I think they look great.
-
agree 100%

If they stuck to the traditional BBing criteria of penalyzing a wide and/or distended waist, we'd put a limit on the blockiness and bad physiques. Its the judges fault.

Something happened with drugs in the late 90s, early 2000s where we started seeing the waist problem.

Mike Quinn once said that he felt that the 80's was the golden era of bodybuilding. Thats when Haney, Ray, Strydom, Christian, Labrada, Quinn, Buchanan, Gaspari, ect... hit the scene.
I think there was clearly more drug usage with each proceeding decade.
-
I think the 80s were the glory days of BBing as well. The best physiques were probably in the early-mid 90s though.
-
90's for sure,, not even worth debating....
-
Yes before all the pros got big ass bellies. :o
