Best moment in sports....round 7 Holifield vs Riddick Bowe :o :o :o
-
for me, this is the greatest moment in sports. Watching Powell on the last leg sends a chill down my spine.
-
the sox coming back from a 0-3 deficit in the 04 alcs
granted it wasn't a single moment but still
-
bluegrass miracle.....even better because I was getting the "your team lost to our team" calls right before this play...then there was silence. LMAO

And the pass at the other end...

Of course if the refs had called the travel on the other end.....

I can remember Linford Christie winning the 92 Olympic 100m and roberto baggio fucking up his free kick in the final as well as branco etc
-
I'd contribute, but I'm too lazy to search for either the final out of the 2004 ALCS out, or the final out of the World Series a few weeks later. ;)

Debussey was refering to the theme song, but Debussey should have watched through the movie.
The WC94 theme song was called "Gloryland", no?

I remember that some of the retarded Kentucky fans were still tearing down the goalposts.

I could not tell you. You are probaly right.
As a kid in the good days of the uefa champions league 93-2001ish on match days i would be obsessed and always hum the champion league tunes during school, desperate to get home get my dinner and sum work done so i could watch champions league.
Too mnay games in it now. Was best with 16 team format. More prestige I thought. teams like ajaz, juventus, united, borrusia dortmund, bayern munich, madrid, milan, inter, barca etc

2005 Masters - Tiger's birdie at 16 on Sunday rates as the best shot I've ever seen, given the stakes. Because of the bogey-bogey finish, he actually needed that chip-in to force the playoff (but didn't know it at the time).
1983 NCAA Championship - NC State defeats Houston on a last-second alley-oop from Dereck Wihttenburg to Lorenzo Charles
1980 Miracle on Ice - you Cold War Kids will know exactly what I'm talking about when I say you're not American, if this doesn't make you tingle
-
Tre - all great moments, but that wasn't an alley-oop. Whittenberg's jumper was WAY short but Charles was on the spot with the "rebound."

Accidental, but I think it's a better story if people think that it happened on purpose. lol

True. The broadcaster in the video, Rich Brenner, is either still on or only recently retired from WGHP-Fox 8 here in Greensboro.

I remember that being a turning point in the game. The Generals had been mounting a comeback before that shot finally took the wind out of their sails.

Me too. Vegas had 2-1 odds on the Generals that night. Who woulda thunk they would lose again. Lotta people lost their shirts that night.
