Is it true that our bodies can't utilise carbs from fruit as energy and they can only be stored in the liver as glycogen but cannot be converted to muscle glycogen?

yes.
fructose is only used for liver. glucose is used for muscle, liver and brain.
fructose does not effect blood sugar or stimulate any insulin release, while glucose raises blood sugar which causes insulin release to balance blood sugar.
Fruit is compromised of a carbohydrate named Sucrose. Sucrose is one half Fructose, one half glucose.

Too many anti-carb zealots seem to forget this or don't know it.

are you saying that diabetics can eat all the fruit they want and it won't affect blood sugar levels adversely?
