Sounds like attempted homicide to me:
(CNN) -- The 4-year-old daughter of boxing legend Mike Tyson was in "extremely critical condition" Monday evening after she was injured in a treadmill accident at the family's home in Phoenix, Arizona, police said.
The girl was found by her 7-year-old brother on a treadmill "with her neck on ... a cable" attached to the machine, police said in a statement.
The mother "took her daughter off the cable" and called authorities, according to police.
The girl was on life support in critical condition on Monday, police said.

Sounds more like a poorly written story.
-
I don't know if we can blame Mike for that one. Good chance that (like many men in that culture/demographic) he has never even seen his kid.
Now this mother......she's a little suspect.

Nothing controversial. Just a unsupervised kid.
Only reason this made news because its Tysons kid.

Agree to an extent. Maybe the lack of adult supervision is where I would disagree. I mean come on. A 4 year old playing on a treadmill, only to be found after the fact by the 7 year old brother. Where was the mom. It wouldn't have gone down like that in my house and probably any of yours.

I'm not sure why you disagree that that it was due to lack of supervision.
I agree with you about the mother being absent and the only (presumably) supervision was a 7yr old kid.
Irresponsible especially since little kids get into all types of mischief and injury at a seconds notice.
Kid watching is a fulltime job

I hope she pulls through! A small child can always have a freak accident and it's not necessarily anyone's fault.
Screwed up as he may be, Tyson doesn't deserve another tragedy in his life. :-\

Spot on. I have a 4yr old and let me say any parent with a 4yr old knows that if you don't hear noise every 60 seconds...they are into something they shouldn't be into and you go silently around the house to bust them in the act.
Mommy wasn't doing her job that day. Prob told the 7yr old to watch her while she sat watching tv or something.

That sucks...I wouldn't wish that on anyone, not even Michael Vick :'(

Funny how karma works huh? First he tells Lennox Lewis (i think) that he was going to murder his children..or eat them.. one of the two now his kid dies.
:-\
Doesn't make it right that a 4yr old had to die though..sad day. :'(
