Genetics? Please...that is a finely tuned athlete with probably 10-15yrs+ of training and conditioning. Sure genetics may play a small role but I'd put money on the fact that he takes his sport (gymnastics, competitive diving) seriously (as some here on GB do) and lives to train and improve his skills.. not the "oh he's just good cause of his genetics" excuse of why he is good at what he does or better than others.

Yes. Given the right training and time. I would guess he has been in gymnastics as a young kid. I've watch my cousin go from pudgy kid to doing shit very similar to this in just 3yrs so again...yes, with the right training, dedication I think it is possible.

There's a certain confidence you have in this kind of sport, you just know that you won't get hurt.
It's like running, technically you could break your legs or neck just by one wrong step.

An average fucking nobody like you could have been training TWICE as hard since birth and gotten MAYBE 1/25th the results.
The guy is a WORLD CLASS fucking athlete. There are gymnastics programs in literally every town in the world it isn't just "hard work" and "dedication" that keeps every kid in those programs from the fucking olympics you idiot.
I don't know why it makes some people so insecure to mention the OBVIOUS, when it comes to athletics, yes, genetics IS THE key; sure hard work and dedication will be a differentiating factor for the top say .01% percent but all the work in the world isn't going to make much of a difference to an average or below average person like yourself.
Use common fucking sense, do you really think if daddy would have taken you to more basketball camps you'd be lebron james or kobe bryant.

In spite of that, I have no doubt that me at my peak > than Norton as his peak. Even today, after having been retired for over 15yrs, I still have thicker legs/calves and back than he does. I've been a fan of Damian Walters for a couple of years now since he posted his first showreel. Awesome natural ability, combined with dedication, have got him where he is. If I remember correct, he missed out on going to the Olympics. I'd love to be able to do a tenth of the stuff he can.

Uh, Height or lack thereof IS important in gymnastics, especially when a low center of Gravity is a HUGE advantage. Without it, you will NEVER succeed in gymnastics. Ideally you want about a 50/50 weight and length distribution among torso and legs. Most people ARE NOT born with an equal length torso and legs, nor are they apt to achieve equal weight distribution with a low center of gravity in combination with the above.

Shaq isn't that great a player. In his case genetics did get him in. But 90% don't have the advantage of being 7' + tall @ 340+ lbs.
I agree that in some cases genetics play a role..but it takes dedication to be good at it. Maybe it's a double edged sword? Can't be "the best in the world" without having a combo of both but some could get damn close.

i ment different types of builds as in they don't all have the same type of builds. some tall, some short, different proportions etc.

That's not true. Most pro basketball players are very tall. Most horse jockey's are tiny tits. Most pro football linebackers are pretty huge. And most gymnasts have a similar body structure.
