Are you serious with this bullshit?

I can name 100 things the government has done wrong- Most "right wingers" dont like the government, myself included.

Every single catastophy this country has ever experienced is almost always the governments fault in some respect. Most recently, the countries and the worlds financial crisis was directly caused by horrible legislation, bad government oversight and incompatent politicians. Both 911 attacks= Governments fault etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

If you are asking about foreign policy- I think Vietnam was a bad decision, Kennedy's bay of pigs fiasco was pretty bad, pretty much every single action taken by Jimmy Carter foreign policy wise was a disaster ( especially with regards to Iran-- which is why Iran is a pain in the ass today), cutting and running during the second gulf war was a horrible decision. Imo, the biggest blunder in modern american history was cutting and running after the Afghans defeated the USSR.

1st gulf war, not the second.

Obama hasn't cut and ran in #2 yet.

Here is a list of things done wrong:

1.  Refused to protect its border
2/\.  Refused to adopt english as the official language.
3.  Allowed govt employees to have defined benefit pensions and jobs for life
4.  Invaded vietnam
5.  Invaded iraq on the cheap.
6.  Bow to SA and not seek domestic energy sources.
7.  Got off the gold standard.

8.  Allow govt employees to unionize
9.  No term limits for elected officials other than the pres.

Adopting English as an official language is really pointless. Take it from me. We have 2 official languages,
...and for practicality's sake provide services in a number of languages. 911 in Toronto speaks 150 of them.

i think it would make a difference. It's a first step towards demanding that all citizens speak the same language which would help many minority groups integrate into the US society.

Ya, ...but you're still going to have to provide services in other languages for those who haven't yet learned it.

Yes, but what does that have to do with this?

Having an official language will make it easier to implement mandatory English classes for those who don't speak the language.

Knowing the language is a big part of being part of a society.

I totally agree with 3366 on this.

Demands, coupled to assistance, will help the minorities integrate.

Spineless help without making demands won't get you anywhere.
