Does that mean God is imperfect? And in being so, doesn't that mean that God can and his ways and means, be questioned? Just came up with this at work right now...I had a another question but forgot to write it down.
-
No.
If we were all perfect there would be no point.

God made man prior to sin entering the world.

:o What are you talking about?
Original Sin is very real! She posts over on the girly board. :D

God made man prior to sin entering the world.
But God knew man was going to sin, so therefore his thought of our sin, means that sin was already created, before the "act" of sinning.

Damn skippy right

??? God knew there would be a space shuttle in the future also. Does that mean the space shuttle was already created?

he knew that the plane would be invented, and then the plane would be perfected, thereby the creation of the Space shuttle.
I speaking on thought, in a sense, sin is very intagible, not like one can touch it, but the thought of it is it's genesis, then the act is it's creation, it's birth into reality. So if God knew, meaning that the thought was "known", then it was only a matter of time before Human gave birth to the sin but the actual "act".

It's just one of the many contradictions inherent in Christianity. You won't get a straight answer from any of the fundies here.

Be more literal and it makes sense. "In his image" could simply mean man looks like a man. Same as a cup is in a cup's image.
The idea that man physically resembles God is a silly way for people to feel better about themselves.
God hasn't made any perfect people yet.
-
It was cool, God, made us in his own image and like every other mammal on the planet.
Adam and Eve where such perfect creations they lied to God.

yep, and God knew that they were gonna lie, before they lied. So what is the purpose of creating people who you know are gonna do something, before they do it, and punishing them for the act, that he knew that they were gonna do. Sounds kinda, dare I say, sadistic?
I mean, I pray and all, but i am very sincere, but if God is gonna punish me for act in the future that he knows that I'm gonna do beforehand, I'm basically up shit's creek. I have no recourse

That's why I keep saying there is no such thing as 'free will' if you believe in God.

My argument could probably be used for why so many marriages, which are covenants with God, end up broken or in divorce...because god knew that these people were insincere from the getgo, so the punishment is the pain and anguish of having ones feelings hurt thru cheating, financial distress, or other things.

One day my friend, you will realise that arguing with religious fundamentalists is a total waste of time.

I have no argument with them, just ponderings, I tend to do that a lot.

Parker I'm not sure...are you saying you would rather not have free will?

Sometimes your questions are so strange it's hard to know if you are being sarcastic or not.

kinda like your quest to get in shape :D

Aren't Christians supposed to be kind? And I will get in shape, unlike people who believe in talking snakes and magic apples, they won't stop believing that.
-
this confuses me too. How can we have free will if God is all knowing? Doesn't one cancel out the other?

this is the answer to Stella's question to me.

But God knew man was going to sin, so therefore his thought of our sin, and did nothing to create us as sinless beings
fixed

God has 2 legs, 2 arms, 2 eyes, 1 nose and 1 mouth?
Why does god have legs, arms, eyes, a nose and a mouth?
Or does "in gods image" mean emotional and mental opposed to physical?
If so, then why would an all powerful all knowing being get angry, sad, scared, jealous? Does God have sexual feelings?
Or does "in gods image" not mean emotional and mental either?
Then what the hell DOES it mean????

Free will is a joke, we have limited free will. Imagine Adam and Eve getting ready to do something (I don't know, sex, gardening, etc) that they thought they thought up themselves and made the choice to do, and God saying, " I knew you were going to do that."
Just like God knew I was going to type this, or God knowing I was going to start this thread.

just as God knew what adam and eve would do when he created them. God knew what judas would do. God knew what satan would do when he created him as an angel. God knew i was going to type this post today way back when the romans ruled the world. The concept of "free will" only came about during the Jackson age of "democracy". You can choose your president, your elected officials, and instead of God choosing you (jonathan edwards), now you chose God. Very confusing subject.
