No.

but thats not the issue with foreman grill / tilapia.

Tilapia breaks apart very easily so once its cooked, your going to be stocking up a tupperware of flaked fish, not a fillet anymore.
plus u gotta clean the grill, but its not greasy, it goes fast.

best way, is throw some tilapia into a baking dish (kind of like for brownies etc) something 1 inch deep atleast.
let the tilaipa sit on a bed of chopped onions and chives (wtv else u might like)
cook for 20 mins, in the oven at 350F, and drain water, let it sit in stove (now turned off) for 10 mins
and this will make the fillets stick together a bit better.

then u can take em out and enjoy.
easiest way, plus you can make like 12 fillets at a time depending on the size of your baking dish.
u can also wrap the fish in aluminum foil with similar ingredients, and cook similarly.
less cleanup. less having to supervise during cooking, holds the fish better, less smell (although Tilapia is not so bad)

EAT UP BIATCH!
lol

don't forget to pam up the foil or else you'll be eating aluminum with your fish.

I have been to a tilapia farm. It's gross. Tilapia tastes so gross because the fish are so crammed together in fish tanks they eat each other feces. It's disgusting. Unless you deep fry it or blacked it you cannot concelle that fish turd taste. I wouldn't serve that fish to one of my enemies.

I'm not a fan of it myself, but it's edible (we typically use a heavy lemon pepper preparation).

I understand that most people choose it for budgetary reasons, but I'd rather have less pocket money and be eating better food.

Hey I've met people that love it. Without even seeing the fish farm the taste of it repulses me. The texture as well. It's cheap for sure. But I love my food. I would cough up the few extra $ to get a more palateable fish.

rainbow trout = AWESOME

Where ever you shop they should have the "local" fish. It's always the cheapest one. Or you can go in the frozen food section and look for cod or scrod. Best freezing fish there is. You can cook cod every which way but loose and it tastes good.
i cooked cod the other night in my broiler w/ some cajun seasoning on it...but it tasted very boring
do u have any tips cheftim?
thanks

I cook tilapia on my Foreman about twice a week. Never had any problems with smell. I disagree with a previous post that said it's flaky and will break up. One of the things I like about tilapia is that it stays firm on the grill and slides right off using a plastic spatula. I buy mine individually quick frozen in a bag so it might be different if you buy it fresh. Also, tilapia is very low in mercury so you can eat it everyday unlike tuna or, Cutler's favorite, orange roughy.

I mix it in a bowl with some pasta and Alfredo sauce with a little bit of parmesan cheese and those red peppers you get at Pizza Hut (I don't know where else you can get them.

For the price it's my favorite fish.

Ok but keep your zinc levels up.  Oysters and plenty of sleep.  Good luck.

And David Carradine's house didn't smell.  ::)

Ha, Ha! Spice aisle? Where's that? I just go straight to the frozen chicken breast and fish and then get my rice and potatoes. Clueless meathead shopper. Owned.

Nicely done.

Probably called crushed chili or chili flakes.  If you dig spice, head on down to the vegetable aisle, or ask someone to show you the way ;), and scope out the chili varieties.  Criminal for a spice man to be living on the dried stuff.

The Hamilton Beach version of the George Forman grill is easier to clean because you can take the part that touches the food out and run it through the dishwasher...
