It does attract a lot of short guys , insecurity leads them to be big if they can't be tall , I'm 5'11" and I'm taller than 90% of the people in my gym

That's funny!! Most are of average height (5'8"), especially among the top champions!!

Kevin Levrone - 5'8"
Jay Cutler - 5'9"
Lee Haney - 5'11"
Dorian Yates - 5'11"
Ronnie Coleman 5'11" (6'0", with his curly flattop).
Arnold Schwarzenegger - 6'2"
Ken Waller - 6'0"
Mike Katz - 6'1"
Reg Park - 6'2"
Lou Ferrigno - 6'5"
Berry DeMey - 6'0"
Gary Strydom - 6'2"
Toney Freeman - 6'2"
Quincy Taylor - 6'3"
Phil Heath - 5'9"
Kai Greene 5'9"
Darrem Charles - 5'8"
Johnnie Jackson - 5'8"
Brandon Curry - 5'8"
Paul Dillett - 6'1"
Jim Quinn - 6'1"

Those are just some off the top of my head.

I'm 5.9.5"-5'10" and when walking in a crowd of people, there are so many people taller than me. I think 6'0" + is when you're noticeably taller than most.

Midgetry has long been linked with aggressivness. With the aggressiveness there is a desire for dominance.... the concept of the alpha male comes to mind which is strongly linked to homosexuality. Because the vertically challenged try to create the image of an alpha male there is a strong propensity to border on all things homosexual.

The average height for white males is just under 70 inches, or 5' 10".

5'6" and shorter is the bottom 5% of the population; it makes sense that some who fall here would have something extra to prove in getting huge.

most pros lie about their height, well most everyone seems to lie about their height.  i am exactly 6.00 and i get people all the time saying i must be at least 6,2 as they are 5,11.  they are just deluded about their height.

i have met doz and levrone and they were a lot shorted than me, 5,8 at most, kev probably shorter than dorian.

Yes it's the Napoleon Syndrome-compensate for shortness with wideness, just like too many lesbos as wide as they are tall. ;D

Ironically Ben Weider was one of the world's leading Napoleon aficionados.

Napoleon complex is a colloquial term describing an alleged type of inferiority complex which is said to affect some people who are short in stature. The term is also used more generally to describe people who are driven by a perceived handicap to overcompensate in other aspects of their lives. This term is also known as Napoleon syndrome,[1] Short Man syndrome,[2] and Small Man syndrome.

i am 5.7.i admit that in the beginning i was little scared to fight with taller guys.once i was force to fight a guy who was close to 6.in a sec i found out he does not know how to fight.i kicked his ass real good.later in life i learnt that taller guys are real pussies if u stand up to them.they have advantage of their hight to keep fights away from them most of the time and that is their weakness.
shorter guys are successfull in bodybuilding cuz shorter guys have more balance and symmetrical structure compair to taller guys.i mean how many time u see a tall symmetrical bodybuilder.

Ya know, it's funny how a lot of people are always pointing out how "short" the average bodybuilder is and that they probably only started training because they were "insecure" about their height. And It's usually the taller guys that seem to feel the need to constantly point this out.

Hmmm.....maybe its the tall guys who are really the insecure ones, otherwise why the fuck they seem to care so much about how tall another man is?

It's all a form of "insecurity," one way or another. We, as people always feel a need to one up one another, whether it's height, money, hotter wife/gf, cars, houses, etc...

Its pretty sad, actually, we have a lot on getbig like this, all part of a perception. :-\

"Midgetry" My favorite new word  ;D
A short guy has an easier time attain muscle thickness/fullness. The taller champs (5'10" and over)are complete freaks so it stands  to reason they would DOMINATE
