whats your thoughts showstoppa?

I'm honestly disappointed, as I thought his admin would finally rope in some of the idiocy of CEO's raking in cash while employees and shareholders are left holding the bag.  Giving the shareholders "non-binding" votes is just a smoke screen to appear to do something about it, yet nothing really changes.  Especially on those who have been aided by bailouts.  The CEO pay and executive pay should be directly related to performance.  And this garbage of "we can't retain the best" is a joke.  If it was across the board, where would they go?  Performance = pay....not a difficult concept.  But hey, I'm a dumb half-redneck, what do I know... ;D

Having a "pay czar" sounds like mother Russia.

Socialism is our new reality.

Government owned banks, auto manufacturers, ability to tell corporations what to pay execs, etc.

Scary.

Capitalism leads us straight to hell.

Did it help to build the greatest country in the world?  We are fat and happy now, but don't forget what this country has done over the last 100 and something years.

they shouldnt be setting salaries or anything like that but they SHOULD set caps for these guys' salaries, its absurd when a single person has their salaries set to millions of dollars a year. set a cap to like 500K a year maximum or something, and cap the 'bonuses' as well. 500K a year is still a RIDICULOUS amount of money.

there are simply too many of these shitstains 'earning' MILLIONS a year in addition to MILLIONS in 'bonuses' whilst their company is failing, exploiting the common citizen, and laying off thousands of employees.
if you are OK with situations like these, you are simply an asshole.

i agree , but one has to ponder the question about governments role in business...and how far it can reach its hands before crossing over the line and becoming oppressive to peoples natural rights..

The government has no right whatsoever to decide how much money a company's CEO,  or anyone else for that matter, makes no matter how much you disagree with it, it's completely unconstitutional.

I do agree that the companies involved in the receiving of TARP funds should be regulated as to where they money is going, but just not other companies.
