Title: Good speakers?
Post by: Butterbean on June 15, 2009, 07:20:08 PM
Took some old speakers down in a room to paint/etc.   They are huge, old and ugly.

Any suggestions for smaller speakers w/quality sound for replacement?  Bose...?

Thanks!

Indoor painting should be reserved for the winter.  :P

Bose is always good, but pricey.

If you can afford them,...Klipschorns!!!!

Klipschorns can slap anything Bose makes  to the ground and make them eat a patch of grass...

My priority is to make it sound as if the New York Philharmonic is in the same room with me.

Not sure what kind of audio set up you have at home, but my AL speakers are connected to my computer and the sound is incredible!  Altec Lansing also makes regular home speakers as well.  Check them out...

Then visit one of their dealers and do a blind sound test.  That's how I made my decision.  Adjust the bass, treble, etc.  Then ask the salesman to switch the audio source between 3-5 different speakers while your back is turned and just listen to the different audio quality.  Buy the one that sounds best to you.  My speakers are ten years old (they don't make this particular model anymore) but they still sound fantastic! 8)
