Title: 2009 NPC Jr. Nationals - June 19 & 20th
Post by: Lift Studios on June 16, 2009, 06:33:50 AM
Who will take the overall this year? There's not much hype or chatter going into this event but always someone who puts themselves on the map heading into next months USAs.

There will be over 400 total competitors this weekend in Chicago. Any getbiggers representing?

Past overall winners of this show who have gone on to turn pro:

Evan Centopani
Phil Heath
Jimmy Canyon
Michael Ergas
Kevin English
Rod Ketchens - 1993 Toney Freeman wins the super-heavyweight but not the overall
Paul Demayo - beating Kevin Levrone
Porter Cottrell
Bob Cicherillo
Eddie Robinson
Rich Gaspari
Lee Haney

I haven't heard much of anyone this year. Last year it was Trey Brewer, Sean Allen and Mike Liberatore who were catching the attention before the show.

Hollywood won't let the dogs out for this one. He still thinks he has a chance at turning pro and will do USAs next month.

Mike competed as a Pro once after getting his pro card - Europa Show 2007 - 15th place.   Maybe he'll pursue the 202 class now (won his pro card as a LHWT) or maybe his priorities have changed?
