Marijuana Causes Cancer, California Regulators Say
Friday, June 19, 2009
SAN FRANCISCO — Marijuana smoke has joined tobacco smoke and hundreds of other chemicals on a list of substances California regulators say cause cancer.
The ruling Friday by the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment likely will force pot shops with 10 or more employees to post warnings. Final guidelines are expected by the time warning requirements take effect in a year.
The listing only applies to marijuana smoke, not the plant itself.
Spokesman Sam Delson says the state agency found marijuana smoke contains 33 of the same harmful chemicals as tobacco smoke.
Delson says the findings came from a review of more than 30 scientific papers.
California's Proposition 65 requires businesses to warn consumers of chemicals that cause cancer or reproductive harm.

shocking lol... I'm pretty sure smoking anything increases risk of cancer.
-
Smoking marijuana causes cancer, so stick to blabbing on the cell phone for extended periods of time, eating all kinds of fried food, binge drinking, living under power lines, going out in the sun and inhaling compounds in car exhaust fumes.

Don't forget eggs. ::)

Milk? Ganmaa Davaasambuu, M.D., Ph.D., a native Mongolian, noted that ingestion of natural estrogens from cows (particularly from pregnant cows) in milk may be linked to breast, prostate, and testicular cancers in humans
Is there anything that doesn't these days?

Going to church and submitting your life to GOD doesn't. :D

This has been known for some time but the risk is almost certainly less than cigarettes. Someone may smoke a few joints a week vs 1-2 packs of cigarettes per day. Neither are good, but cigarettes are worse.
-
you can also eat it or use a vaporizer
-
wifi also ;)

Amen to that. :D
Seems to be mounting indications that marijuana isn't as harmless as some believe.

LMAO

Its more effective and cancer free if you just eat it or cook with it.

I don't know if that's a factor. Not sure if the studies they've done that mention issues with psychosis, testicular cancer, etc. take this into consideration?

Any form of smoke inhalation is potentially cancerous.

Totally worth the risk.

Too effective if done right and you use a decent lot of trimmings. It's like an lsd trip.

I did not know that. I've never "consumed" the stuff before. Although I have always wanted to.

+1...no smoke, high last longer with much less weed needed. I love mine.

Being a "mids" kinda guy I always thought the vaporizer didnt work well with my shitty weed. Care to reflect on that? I don't like buying expensive dro unless I'm getting a deal on it so a vaporizer is a tough decision. I suppose it it made me use less it would make sense but I'm a chronic smoker.
Until marijuana is legalized on a National level I don't think they should have to post shit about it being cancerous.
-
Interesting that we are talking about weed causing cancer when cigarettes are legal.

Its new to me...only 2 weeks. I only use when my joints hurt or if I lose my appetite after my workout (which happens to me a lot)...I had REALLY shitty and OLD (2 months) weed that I tried and got hit like a hammer. It was like smoking for the first time. You do have to play with the temp though and find which works better for different types of weed. Moisture in the weed will also play a big part.
I just like not having to cough my lungs out on a huge drag. No smoke = no coughing.

Alcohol is also a carcinogen. Wheres the label on that shit?

So is the black stuff on the meat you grill on your BBQ..but they're still selling grills. ;D
Nitrates in processed meats..
MSG food additive (which you can buy at any grocery store) shown to cause cancer
we can go on and on...it's not about cancer..it's about the MONEY. It always boils down to money.

If they think people visiting those shops are going to be deterred by a cancer warning they don't have their user profiled correctly.

Looks delicious.... :)

Lucky. I need to get high!

Bong and you can't go wrong.
