I am on a doctor ordered diet to lose 100 lbs. I have lost over 45 already. Part of the diet is to use dietary fiber supliments to increase bulk.
This has a dual purpose to push food out faster and it is then absorbed less in my body to become fat. AND high fiber lowers cholesterol. (mine is high)
NOT the purpose of my post....
Since taking these supliments. Metamucil, benefiber, pills, etc. My shit has become very full are large and consistantly even. Very sweet tasting. I eat these metamucil cookies every afternoon instead of a snack as well. Plus, high fiber complex carb breakfast.
I am loosing weight and having some of the finest shitlogs of my life.
Has anyone else used fiber sups to make huge shitlogs? Is the sweet taste universal or am I the only one making butt candy here? Just straight metamucil makes rubbery looking logs. The wafers and whole grains seem to be part of the key. I think.

Yeah.
Psyllium husk has a shitload (no pun intended) of benefits.
It is a bulk forming laxative that helps you go, but doesn’t make you go.
It’s good for people who suffer from different types of bowel inflammation – IBS, Crohn’s, etc.
If you’re trying to lose weight, maybe consider a sugar free mix like Konsyl. A lot of other powders (and I’d imagine many of the good tasting snacks) contain some amounts of sugar, which probably accounts for the yummy taste.
Anyway, don’t forget to eat some fiber from other sources like vegetables and fruits. Psyllium is a type of grain, so you’ve got that source covered.

I usually buy a jug or two of Metamucil (lasts me two months) from Costco.
The fiber makes me regular, almost to the point of being able to set your clock by my "intestinal orchestras." However, solid/large logs of shit they are not.
I do feel far better when using fiber supplements though. Nothing like being cleared out on an hourly basis! :P

Hourly?..damn. I use psyillium husk (ground to a fine powder) and it works great without the sawdust feel.
Though I only get the urge 2x a day...After coffee in the AM, post workout.
As gross as it is, I have to say that I feel so much better when using fiber. Cleaner, lighter and just a general higher energy type feel. I also notice I don't get as many zits when I'm "regular". Weird huh?

I embellished a tad when I said hourly. ;)
Really, it's once in the morning pretty much as soon as I wake up, and then again right after my workout. Why after the workout I'm not so sure, but it's a regular thing and thus far it's never affected my workouts (unless the 1st or 2nd day using the fiber and my system is adjusting).
