His dad is moving to a much smaller place and is getting rid of stuff.  He sent over tons of ties and some are nice but they are really wide!

Ahh hand me down clothes, never a good scene.

It is always "My God, he wore this stuff"?

I think you need to pick out one or two of the more hideous variety and when hubby gets on your nerves you tell him how much you like said ties and he needs to wear them next time you go out together.  ;)

I have just the one picked out!   It's a cream and orange thick diagonal stripe  ;D

The hub already has a bunch of ties and probably only wears one about 7x a year and he's got pretty good taste so I don't think he'd wear it :(

mormones

NEVER, and I hope the skinny ties being pushed by GQ and Men's Vogue will go away, along with the skinny cheap suit look as well.

I remember a few yrs back where I was working I was helping a mother pick out ties for her sons, and she was trying to match them with shirts. She pick out ties and shirt that would either make them look like lime green geckos, or attract lime green geckos. I told her "Stripes and patterns", she said, but that is too grandpa-ish, I told her, "what was stylish and conservative back then is the same now, go look at a Jos. A Bank catalog."

Just as women tend not to dress for men at work, men don't wear ties for women---we wear them to impress each other, with the occasional "I like your tie", by a woman. That's why women are soo bad at picking out ties for men.

We have Jehovah Witnesses up here  >:(

They got so bad that I had to join the Jehovah Witness Protection Program.
I go door to door now  and tell people I am not who I am  ;D

Sorry sweetie but those Mags own your fashion soul.  the movie "The Devil Wears Prada" (Which I LOVE) said it best that they decide what people like and don't like.
If GQ is pushing it, it will happen.

we have jehovas here too.  They suck just as bad.

Funny you mention that movie.  I have a paper I have to write on a serial killer.  I was thinking about naming it Eddie Gein: The devil Doesn't Wear Prada.  He was a sicko, wore a suit made from women.  He was the inspiration for pyscho, texas chainsaw, and wild bill from silence of the lambs.

Don't get me started on Jehovah's
They ran over Keesha in my driveway.  >:( >:( >:(

My father in law once met Ed Gein.  The Midwest has the corner on the serial sicko market.

bastards!  I hope you beat them!

From what i have read, ed was a nice guy to everyone, a bit on the slow side.  I am going through some serial killer MO's.  interesting for sure.  Speck was a freak too.  First serial killer that I know of that was diagnosed with the XYY gene.

Yes, she was a dog.  Luckily that incident was one of her nine lives.

You've never seen the wrath of a woman in her bathrobe on a November Saturday morning like the one that day!  >:(  They've never dared step foot on my property again.

Ed Gein (pronounced GEEN) was a murderer, grave robber, and necrophile  :-X

Yeah SPeck was a weird one.  COnsidered an alpha-male due to the extra Y chromosome.  He would demand sex from his wife 4-5 times a day (i didn't think that part was all that bad), but he would booze it up and get hookers all the time, then raped and killed 8 nurses.  Gets into jail, and has hormone injections grows breast and becomes the biggest punk in the place.  Gave it up freely to anyone in there.  Ugly as hell too.  But the man boobs pic was  :-X

Wrong!  His lawyer claimed that but it was later proved false.

If GQ is pushing it, it will happen.

The problem is that GQ and Men's Vogue are pushing it, but nobody is buying it. Maybe it's the economy our ever laxing culture (nobody gets dressed to go to court or church anymore :-[---which means guys and women  are starting to have no dress sense), or the fact that what they are pushing is aesthetically unpleasing, or all of this.
