Seems like the kinda guy who got the shit kicked out him a lot as a teen.
-
If that's so, the experience of it served him well since he's a legend now.

btw thats basically postmodern methodology in a nutshell. But without the hippy 'reality tunnel' crap thrown in.

Last time I was in CA there was a guy staying in the same housing with a deep NY/NJ accent... is that what you have?

I find this school of thought lacking and its fickle adherents (hippies / trendies / bohemians) thinking they've stumbled on the next great mind wave, only to be convinced of a new outlook only a week later...

No. I have an extremely neutral, indeterminant American accent. It is impossible to tell I am from NYC. Even growing up I never had much of anything typical for a NYCer and years and years of living abroad have rendered my accent incredibly neutral. For the record, I despise the New Yorker accent. It smacks of educational deficiences, lack of class and just sounds horrible.

Ha ha, thank fuck, I asked before telling the world I hated it just in case that's how you spoke.
Every time that guy spoke I felt queezy... It does put across exactly what you say... :-X

Well, couple of accents in the UK make me feel the same way, albeit not so badly...

I disagree, a strong scouse accent is like being ear raped.

I am biased. My mother has an NY accent. It's hard when your own flesh and blood has it...makes it worse.
-
I like accents. They give people character. Decide wants the entire planet to sound like a dull pre-programmed answering machine where everyone sounds exactly the same. Typical douchebaggery.
The only accent I despise is the Bostonian accent. It just sounds fucking retarded. ( and no I am not a Yankees fan)

Bollocks. ::) I have tons of accents I like; Welsh ones, certain Irish and Scottish ones and I dig the South African accent as well.

Then I dont know how you would say you like scottish, because large swathes of the country are either unintelligable or sound like theyre talking with their hand over their nose!
Hereford...sorry dude but a strong NY accent sucks
