One is opening in Sydney soon, and more are likely to follow. Any good?
-
There are definitely some good deals but not everything. It makes more sense the more you're buying in quantity on a regular basis, preferably sharing the annual cost and grocery tab with roommates or as part of a family. That's based on prices here; maybe you can get a walk through to take a good look at the prices and quanities and decide if it's worthwhile.
NOT usually as boring as this but you get the idea. :P

They will let you check it out before you join. agree if you have lots of people and buy in bulk and freeze stuff its seems like an OK deal. But you will have to shop there a while to make up for the yearly fee. I didnt care much for it.

Buy your egg whites there.
And send the money you saved to Bob Chick so you can "support bodybuilding". :D

Looks like a fuckin warehouse that sells food. I'll stick to woolworths

Costco rules.
Buy in quantity, get yourself some big ass freezer bags and you are eating good at a great price

Costco is the shit. You can get just about everything there, at a discount. Besides, their in-house brand products are as good and often better than the top brands. I buy most of my groceries there. Rice, Oatmeal, fish, beef, chicken, salad, milk, eggs/egg whites, et cetera.

Yep. their tuna fish is fucking great. One big solid chunk of pink tuna, delicious

I like their coffee. It's packaged by starbucks and is starbucks, at half the price.
But the prices are misleading-if you can't share the annual fee some won't save much over the year.
-
yes, good prices on electronics, garden hoses, coffee, wine selection, cheeses, breads and cigarettes

And at some stores, Gas/fuel.

Yeah, I suppose if you don't shop there often enough. For someone like me though, I get my membership's worth. Like I said, I buy the majority of groceries there, as well as medications, movie theater tix, trips to Disney, electronics.... et cetera.
BTW, one thing I love about Costco, is that they stand behind anything they sell. I've known folks who took back their TV's after a couple of years, and got another one. One of my kids' Wii fucked up, and they just traded it for me. Try getting that type of deal anywhere else.
Shit, I ALWAYS buy my tires there. They are cheaper, and they come with warranties. Can't tell you how many times I've had to replace a tire, and they either give me credit for the old one, or just replace it. Like I said, I get my money's worth there.

Costco all the way big store, no doubt about it.

Get the executive membership. Its $100 but you get 2% back on all purchases, so if you're like me spending ~$100/week ($100x52x2%=$104) then your membership pays for itself.
Their prepared foods are awesome too. Breaded tilapia, seafood stuffed salmon and flank steak florentine are my favorites. Large rotisserie chickens for $5.

Hahaha,I bet that's the only pink tuna you get ;D

Man its been a while since I heard of Woolworths .. had it my country (Zimbabwe) never heard of it in North America ... :'(
Costco I believe is good for families - but you do find occasional good prices for individual purchases - as a single person i give it 4 stars out of 10
