Some Russian (maybe he wasn't Russian who the fuck knows) looks at me after I do a set of squats and tells me to "keep my back straight", I'm bending "too far forward", and "I'm gonna blow my back right out".
I say "yeah" and brush him off with a hand motion. He then goes back to curling his 30s.
Fuck this guy. I'm a tall dude at 6'4 and when I squat down (even if its just a body weight squat with no bar) my back naturally leans forward. I keep it straight and not curved, but it just always leans forward unless I put some elevation under my heels. That's the way it goes. That's the way god/allah/natural selection made me. I hate when I'm dealing with an intense leg workout and some cock has to give me his worthless input.
Obviously I didn't just deal with this situation by complaining about it on getbig. I manned up and beat the living shit out of him. I told him if I see him near the squat racks doing curls ever again I will beat him that much worse and have sex with all his female acquaintances and family members.
He begged for forgiveness as I got back under 365 to pump out some more reps...

Next time, after beating the shit out of him you might want to drag his body over to the lat machine, put the pin at about 170 and then drop the stack on his head a few times.

It happened once or twice. Funny thing is my training partner was a national powerlifting champ and stood right beside me. Some "trainer" still thought it was necessary to show me how to correctly straighten my back. I just continued my set as if the fool wasn't even there.

haha! yes, very common. i was doing skullcrushers once and this old creep came and "touched" my elbows to "keep them close" during this exercise. then i told him wtf was he doing he might have injured me and told me "he didn't see my triceps working".

I had a guy in China come up and put both of is hands on one of my calves. I didn't understand what he said (my Chinese isn't great) but I just let it slide as a cultural difference.

Ahh man I'm gonna get shit for doing a 365 squat? I think that's pretty good and honestly I have never seen any of the juiced guys at my gym squat more than 405 with good form. Granted I go to LA Fitness which isn't the most "hardcore", but come on....

Not a pussy bro but i remember thinking about quitting but i got up real quick and was making good but i had another job on the side. I just did it for insurance and i liked the hard work but the money is pathetic at first. Best Buy pays more and you get to talk to the talent that walks in the doors and it is really a no brainer. UPS has a bunch of guys who are sweating while Best Buy has some great Talent and give them a test drive.

i saw some guy at the gym the other day doing deadlifts and his back was bending like a half-circle. ridiculously bad form. i said nothing though because im tired of giving advice. no one listens anyways, so let them go on doing it wrong.
so perhaps your form needed corrected, but your pride doesnt allow you to accept any advice, just like most of the other guys in the gym who never make any progress.
I've been working out with nodeal for long enough to know his form didn't need to be corrected. When he goes to parallel there's no way around bending his lower back. But to be able to complete a set to failure, while keeping that weight under control, is pretty damn impressive.

I accept advice! You read my thread about my bench...I was looking for advice there.

I feel the same way. I love seeing the 16 year olds pile up the plates on leg press and then move it 2 inches for each rep. I always want to say something, but don't. I have better things to do:)

No shit! Grabbing the heaviest weight they can. The rest of their workouts also consist of single joint movement exercises all below 30 lbs. :)

man i am not saying that all tall ppl must be weaker!!.. it depends on the length and type of their joints.. lou for example is tall but i am sure he was strong.. but if you talk in general and about guys in your gym, yes you will find that many tall ppl have problems with their press movements..

man i am not saying that all tall ppl must be weaker!!.. it depends on the length and type of their joints.. lou for example is tall but i am sure he was strong.. but if you talk in general and about guys in your gym, yes you will find that many tall ppl have problems with their press movements..
Yeah sometimes I feel at a disadvantage with long arms. I'm not trying to make excuses for myself but I am envious when I see people with shorter arms complete a full rep with a range of motion that would be a half rep for me. I'm gonna do some standing military presses tomorrow for shoulders...not really expecting much to happen with my bench from these but who knows. They'll also be fun to do.
