-

yes.
-

-
yes.
why?
-
when in shape
I have found about a gram per pound of LEAN MASS suffices....so, if I am 190 at 10%...that'd be 150-170 grams per day
anything more ends up in the toilet
and as far as kidney health goes....you'd have to consume a boatload of protein to hurt them
-
As much as I can,
ie: how much whey protein and good food I can afford to buy.
-
why?
you have to take those 211,345238 grams of protein to grow.
-
About 350g a day

Personally i have shit on all supplements except multi's
I only eat solid food nowadays, multi, and an energy drink sometimes before a workout. I dont trust protein powders in tubes nowadays, you dont know whats inside, it might be plain flour.

maybe i believe in another macro nutrient to grow?

thats why you should use good companies like www.myprotein.co.uk,
the only supplement i buy are Whey+Dextrose for postworkout.
I admit L-Arginine at high doses expands your arteries and gives you better errections/pumps while training but it has no long term benefit.
Creatine Monohydrate +2 reps to every exercise.

I was also sceptical about whey protein till recently, but due to work started adding it for convenience and since doing so I'm quickly noticing a difference.

Why do you want an erection during training??
Holy shit that is funny! It reminds me of the scene in Happy Gilmore where the guys says to Happy "I eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast!" and Happy says "You eat pieces of shit for breakfast?"

Method is one weird SOB thats for sure

1/2 gram per pound of Lean Body Mass- maybe less. All this "more, more, more' crap is just that; "crap"
"Studies?"
The International Society for Research on Nutrition and Vital Substances has stated that our "classical" protein requirement tables need an overhaul. These tables state that around 1 1/2 grams per pound of body weight per day.
The only human beings that are gonna need a little extra protein are pregnant women, or people rehabbing from an injury. Obviously there would be many variables. I don't care how hard a bodybuilder works out in the gym, your body is only going to assimilate the very small amounts that it needs.
Excess protein is only going to be converted into energy or stored as fat.
Considering the fact that a pound of muscle contains about 600 calories-- let's say you wanted to build 10 lbs. of extra mass in a year, that would be a total of 6000 calories above your 'maintenance' needs. If you divided 6000 by 365 (days in a year... duuuuhhh) that would equate to about 16 calories a day above your basal requirements.
Now, how many grams of protein would it take to make up those 16 calories a day? And who is to say that it wouldn't be better to eat some carbs instead? What would that be; about one big bite out of an apple?
As far as injury to kidneys, some folks here better start doing some homework. There are many reasons and variables that can easily cause damage with excess protein. It depends on the individual. Do you ever consider the damage that may be occuring just from the excess dope you use?
Read people. READ!
Here is a link to a study from the New England Journal of Medicine and the American Journal for Kidney Disease (among others)... if you read closely, you will see that the studies are in depth. Another variable talks about the types of protein used.
http://www.benbest.com/health/kidney.html
Keith Thomas Ayoob EdD, RD, FADA, associate professor, Albert Einstein College of Medicine states that 0.4 - 0.8 grams per Kilogram is sufficient. When you are truly building muscle, you can increase it a bit, but it will still be less than most people are eating (without even trying)
The most important ingredient for building muscle is not Testosterone or Protein.
The main ingredient is HARD WORK.
Can you dig it? Stop wasting your money and start hittin the gym hard, fags.
-
a little more than one gram per pound of lean body mass.

nothing would have changed, of course. the only way your going to lose muscle is eating wya less protein than that. and being a natural, your not going to notice a slow in your pace of growth from day to day... but come 4-6 months down the road when you havent more than a few ounces...and normally you would have put on a few pounds...ten you goingg t ask why your growth slowed down?? yeah buddy
-

You think eating around 1g per pound of LMB is gonna slow down growth compared to 300g for a natty? GOt any studies to back it up?
-
Why do you want an erection during training??
I think you know i meant in general, no i don't get errections during training lol.
WASTE of $$$$$$$$
WOOOSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I would still eat like this if i didn't train, i like protein foods.
-

I've been training close to 14 years, first 4 clean, then 4 juiced, now clean.
At this point, all i am training for is better quality/maturity/separation, i am not going to gain any significant muscle.
If your body isn't using the protein and you can feel it is making you sluggish you should still eat it? If your liver ALT/AST tests are elevated do you think your body is using the extra protein or putting it under uneedy stress?
-
I eat 350g of proteins, and i weigh around 190 right now.
I think one gram should do it ;D

I bet your under 6ft. tall.
I can tell by your attitude.

Nope 6ft 3.
-
I think one gram should do it ;D
I try to keep it around 1 gram per pound of bodyweight, not LBM.
There is no way to tell exactly how much protein your body is or isn't utilizing...so I figure i'm covered with that amount
-
You think eating around 1g per pound of LMB is gonna slow down growth compared to 300g for a natty? GOt any studies to back it up?
not always... but in alot of cases yes. depends on alot of factors.

what makes yout hink your body isnt using the protein? protien is pretty much always used... just not always used to build a surplus of muscle. as fr the liver thing... proteins not going to mess with the health of your liver...regardless how much you eat
-

Again, can you back it up, or is this just more meaningless TSperm conjecture?
-
400 grams of protien everyday
since when, yesterday?
-
100-150 grams.

250-275

Roughly 100g per day, Goudy I hear also only takes like 160g,
Mike Mentzer also only had around 100g per day,
Protein=over rated
-
It's always funny when I see these threads and the ones that are the biggest eat the most protein and the ones that are the smallest eat around 100-150g and say "proteins not needed blah blah"... biggest pile of horseshit I ever heard. Protein IS needed for growth and repair... besides, all these studies are done on mostly sedentary individuals and not people that live bodybuilding.
And to the guy that said all you need to do is train hard and that testosterone and protein have nothing to do with growth... you're just an idiot.
-
i get 100 at most but to drop weight. i had an injury so i will up my calories a bit for my epic comeback, so maybe i'll go crazy and do 120. ;D

hmmm...
and what is your lean body mass exactly..?
everyone that champions the whole 'you don't need that much protein' school of thought usually weighs a buck 70 on a good day.
400+ a day.

. besides, all these studies are done on mostly sedentary individuals and not people that live bodybuilding.
incorrect.

arthur jones recommended .8g per pound.

150g and 235-40lbs
-
arthur jones recommended .8g per pound.
Who cares what Arthur Jones reccomended? Was he a pro bodybuilder? No. I'd much rather listen to people that have actually gotten freaky huge than some guy who made gym equipment and didn't look like anything special.
