Title: ok all you iPod queers...how the fuck do I put music on this damn thing??
Post by: Tre on July 15, 2009, 03:15:05 PM

Two years later, got a new Nano (gave up on the old iPod and gave it to my kid) because a friend said 'trust me'.

Well, my fucking $20 MP3 player is proving to be a lot more user-friendly than this little fucker and truthfully, I'm not really a fan of having to wear that gay-ass armband that's required.  The little cheapo MP3 player just clips right on my collar and I don't even know it's there.

Now, I've 'synched' the Nano with my laptop, but it did NOT do the little 'gym playlist' thing like I wanted.  So, I've got this playlist I want set up on another computer.  How do I get it onto the ipod?  When I connected, the thing said it can only be synched with one computer at a time.  WTF??

The iPod is only meant to be synched with one iTunes library on one computer.  You are trying to sync it with two computers and that is not allowed.  Choose one computer you want it synced with it, and use that computer knowing that is the one you will be setting up playlists on that you plan to load onto the iPod.

Apple has designed the iPod this way because the record companies basically demanded it.  Otherwise one person could connect a single iPod to several machines and copy (steal) music from several machines.  Obviously, the record companies do not want people to be able to do that.

You need to create the ‘gym playlist’ on your laptop.  After you do that (make sure the songs are selected/checked in the playlist) the next time you plug in the iPod and click the Sync button the songs will transfer.

Thanks, Bay.  I knew getting an iPod was a bad idea!

I'll stick everything on the one machine, though.  Can't let a little Apple-rage interfere with the quality of my workouts.  :D

TreNuggs, look up software online that lets you "crack" the Ipod.  I found one a while ago that let me sync to all kinds of computers and to transfer stuff from the ipod to the hard drive.

Simple, just dont fucking synch it, do it manually through itunes or the wealth of other programs that will upload to your ipod.

You can crack this very easily and sync to as many libraries as you want or manually transfer files to it when it's being used as a flash drive. There's lots of apps that do this.
