Title: new training split
Post by: ringo20454 on July 17, 2009, 09:36:51 PM
i am looking to change my training split. for the last several months it has been
1. tri's and legs
2.back
3. biceps
4. chest and shoulders

I would like to give legs their own day because i always feel like they get cheated, guess i need a 5 day split. might give arms better recovery as well. any suggestions?

LOL! just messin with ya. hows your workouts been going?  8) I was in boston recently for abt two weeks.. will probably visit again soon some time this year. We should hit up some abs and some hardcore yoga then  :D

These days my split is Full Body workout 3x a week plus a short HIIT cardio session afterwards.

Cleans 3-4 sets
Squats s-set w/ Standing Calf  3 sets
Db SLDL s-set w/ Seated Calf 1 set
Incline Db alt. w/ Db Rows 3 sets
Lying Ext. s-set w/ Pullups 1 set
Reverse Hypers s-set w/ BB Curls 2 sets

Followed by Sprints or Rowing machine.

Workout is suited to my current needs, so if it lacks hitting a certain bodypart its because I'm not focusing on it.

My current split, based off DC

mon-upper

wed-bi's/lower

friday-upper

week 2 is vice versa, with bi's/legs on mon, upper on wed, and bi's/legs friday

When not doing the above

monday-chest/delts/tri's
tue-legs

thurs-back/bi's

sat-chest-delts/tri's

then the following week has legs on monday and sat, etc..

Upper Body, Lower Body or a three day split would probably work best IMO.

Monday.....upper body
Wednsday...lower body
Friday.......upper body

next onday...lower body
Wednsday......upper body
Friday...........lower body

Alternated each Monday from upper to lower. Allows 3 to 4 days rest between body sections worked. Good Luck.
