Look at this picture the next time you consider going out drinking. This is a picture of a guy from Britain with chirhosis of the liver. It is a liver disease that people get usually from drinking too much alcohol over the years. (Although some people like my dad are unfortunate enough to get it in spite of very limited alcohol.) This guy was denied a liver transplant because he couldnt prove that he would stay sober. He had been a 22 year old alcholic since age 13. This pic was taken 2 days before he died. It sucks that he died but the people who denied the transplant shouldnt necessarily be blamed. Spare livers arent exactly plentiful and these procedures arent cheap. My dad's procedure costed b/t $300 thousand to $500 thousand dollars.
