Actually, when families feed their kids nothing but soda, sugary cereal, chips and candy(which most lowlife and ethnic families seem to do), a lot of them end up obese and diabetic. If the great Obama wants to have nationalized healthcare, I'd rather they tax shit food than have to pay even more from my income tax for these losers' medical care.

He is absolutely right. You can eat junk food without getting fat, just like you can pig out on "healthy, wholesome" food and become obese. It all boils down to how much you eat. Not every person who eats McDs or some other fast food joint automatically becomes obese, nor does everyone who avoids junk automatically stay slim and healthy.

It's an individual's dietary habits and discipline that makes them healthy or obese or whatever.

This is retarded. If you want to tax something, tax sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, and aspartame. Far worst then fat.

What about healthy, slim people enjoying "junk" food from time to time?
You can always eat one whopper instead of three.

qft, taxing the food is idiotic.

For example, if some people are so stupid and eat a whole tub of ice cream, why should the normal family that enjoys a tub of ice cream with 3-4 persons over a few days pay more?

Tax the people for being fat, or make them pay more to health services, that would be better.

currently, fat people do pay more for health services. They get sick more and have more problems. It's funny that people want a free health care system, yet at the same time want to tax fat people.
taxing people will never work, you have to tax the products.
tho it would be nice to tax parents that have fat kids.

If this should ever come to pass......how long till we start taxing the ugly, the stupid, or taxing those who over breed (so to speak)?

Could you imagine if we taxed the illiterate, most of Getbig would be fucked........

The senseless thing is paying 5oeuro or so if your luggage bag is 4kg overweight going on a plane and then charging an obese person the same price as yours for the actual plane ticket

Trying to tax the food would be a logistical nightmare.  There is some food that is clearly "junk" in all cases, and some that is clealry healthy in all cases, but probably 2/3 of the food and food products out there falls into neither of the two categries...  it all depands on how you use it, in what quantities, in what circumstances, etc.  It's really unworkable.  just jack up insurance rates then give fit people a "discount" back to less than today's current cost.  That way the fatties pay the costs their lack of willpower causes, rather than shifting the cost onto those of us who stay fit.

Not enough....by far, and they're DEFINITELY not being taxed for the years of hospital assisted living that they're in for in the future.  From cancer to respirators, to all the years that they will not be working, that the rest of us will be fitting the bill for.

You are right, we definitely need to add to the taxes of both.  As for the food, again, it is not the food, but an individuals inability to control themselves.
The US is so fat due to its culture of more of everything is better.
