As you'll all know by now the UFC (Dana/FertittaBros) got majorly bitchslapped by M-1 this week. That was to be expected since M-1 is linked to the Ivy league of organised crime, the russian mob.
More surprising however was the second bitchslap Dana/FertittaBros received coming from no other than the japanese yakuza. Obviously nuking them nips didn't leave a lasting impression.
Now that it's becoming painfully clear that the UFC is being run by a bunch of pussies do you think most of the fighters will do the right thing and sign with M-1 or will you still chear for you favorite fighter knowing that they take orders from beta males ?

Dana White: "The mafia is keeping us out of Japan"
Ever since UFC president Dana White and his business partners, the Fertitta brothers, purchased Pride and subsequently closed its doors, the scorn has rained down on them. The MMA hardcores have been particularly forgiving.
"Our goal was to keep Pride alive and running (in Japan)," relayed White as part of a fundraising radio-thon on ESPN 1100 radio in Las Vegas on Friday. The event was held to raise funds for The Caring Place cancer support center.
"I’ve talked about the corruption over there and, basically, the mafia over there is keeping us out of Japan," he explained. "It’s a whole 'nother world over there. It’s a tough place to navigate.
"We’re gonna get to Japan. We just did another television deal over there and we’re gonna figure it out."
Zuffa -- the UFC's parent company -- has kept the brand on life support, even featuring it as part of the UFC Fan Expo that was a large part of the promotion's recent UFC 100 weekend.
But despite their commitment, it hasn't been easy.
"It’s rough though, its’ rough doing business over there," said the brash leader of the UFC.

this whole Fedor/UFC thing turned out to be like a premature ejaculation
one thing is for almost certain....
there's nobody Fedor can face now that's gonna generate any attention....
from here on out fedor's gonna be relegated to fighting mismatched "exhibitions" while the UFC keeps on doing what it does..
UFC 1 Fedor 0

Don't get me wrong I would have loved to see Fedor fight in the UFC but now I'm glad he won't 'cause basically the leadership of the UFC is getting pushed around by every crime org out there.
Isn't it odd that every fighter faces his opponent head on and their bosses are too pussy to defend themselves ? Makes no sense to me tbh

Not defend themselves....are you serious ::)
They run a billion dollar business....The biggest MMA org in the world. They own the 'japan mafias' old fight company?
Who's really in control here?

Obviously everybody but the UFC is in control
""I’ve talked about the corruption over there and, basically, the mafia over there is keeping us out of Japan," he explained. "It’s a whole 'nother world over there. It’s a tough place to navigate."
Taking over Pride turned out to be a real bad business decision, they haven't been able to make a dime out of the worlds most popular mma brand and on top of that they're being run out of japan by a bunch of midget gangsters.
As far as you talking about a 'billion dollar' business, that is the local value in the US. The dollar is like monopoly money outside the states.

You have to be fucking kidding me right, first off the UFC has the biggest stable of top ten fighters in every weight class, second who gives a fuck about the mob or any of it's businesses. PRIDE failed and had to be sold, Dream just lost a huge Tv deal, M-1 has no one even with Fedor, so who is really in control. Even if Dana and the UFC never did a show outside of the states, mother fuckers everywhere would still buy them, in Europe, Japan, Mexico, etc.. while the Mobs stand around and lose money! You can't make money when you don't have an orginization. Hell I bet if you walked through a mall anywhere other then Japan and said do you know who Fedor is and then said Do you know who Brock Lesnar is majority would know Brock and most would say FIDOR WHO?

I'm only concerned about the reputation of the UFC. This time it was the russian mob and the yakuza, soon enough every 2 dollar gangsta wants a piece of the action.
Just imagine the horror : UFC get shaken down by the Southside Cock Smugglers or the Kocunut Kracka Killas. That just doesn't look right in the papers.

As far as doing nothing with pride, some of pride's best fighters have signed with the UFC and have made it way more exciting and competitive (Rampage, Silva and Hendo to name a few), the whole Fedor thing is a joke and has made Fedor look like a pu$$y, Dana is throwing all kind of money at him and M-1 and he still says no, as far as the mafia running the UFC our, Japan is corrupt, so the yakuza will pay the right people off so they cannot promote a fight, as far as fighting the mafia, again, the UFC is a corporation, not a gang, what are they going to do, send their fighters after the mafia like some bad action movie

It's a shame really, only a third tier businessman would be able to acquire PRIDE, the worlds most popular and well known MMA organisation at the time, and not make a single dollar out of the brand.
Ah well, at least they still have Kimbo Slice.

They are NO match for the Russians. Not even in the same ballpark. If it ever got really dirty the UFC would be gone in a month. What's going to happen is the money will get bigger in M-1 and fighters are going to start going over there especially since they are more into international than the UFC. Right now the UFC thinks ALL the greatest fighters are from the US. And unless you fight in the UFC THEY don't consider you anyone. Well Fedor shut them down since the majority of the population who watches MMA considers Fedor the baddest. If the UFC wants to prove their point then let Brock fight Fedor in M-1. Won't cost the UFC anything. Let M-1 pay for the fight.

Is this a plot to a movie or something?

The highest ppv's the ufc has ever had utilizing former Pride fighters, sponsorships through the roof, apparrel and product lines booming, so yes in effect a third tier business man has made money

M-1 teamed up with Affliction and killed it. Fedor was Pride's main superstar, and under Finklestein and DSE Pride management, they were able to run it into bankruptcy. Did I mention M-1/Affliction's enterprise also had Golden Boy, Donald Trump and Mark Cuban involved? Also, an upstart organization was on NETWORK TV, and how did that work out? Didn't help. If M-1 wishes to make inroads into the US lucrative PPV market, they blew their chances.
Coker is a smart operator, hopefully Strikeforce can survive and become a viable number 2.

The UFC seems to be afraid of M-1. If they co-promote and Fedor wins, that's bad for UFC. Then fans swing toward M-1, some more fighters head there, etc.
Not co-promoting in the U.S. is bad for M-1. Why should the best fighter's promoter not promote with the UFC. Bad for M-1.
Dana isn't so sure Brock would win; otherwise, he would let Vadim co-promote. What did he say.... "I wouldn't rank Fedor in the top 5..."
There's more to it, but this might be the gist.
But yes, Brock fighting Fedor in M-1... Vadim would have no problem with that. Nor would Fedor.
-
The UFC seems to be afraid of M-1.
M-1 just leech's off anyone they can in an attempt to get "americanized".....
if Fedor steps off a curb tomorrow and gets hit by a bus, they only time you'll ever hear the name "M-1" will be in a trivia question 5 years down the road !

thats not the issue, i don't know whats in the head of fedor and his promoters, but someone correct me if i'm wrong:
ufc works like the musclemania organization...if you fight in ufc, you can't fight anyone but the people in ufc, the driving force behind him going affliction was the fact that they had about 5 guys w/ big contracts (including fedor himself) and they could get anyone to sign and fight fedor at any time, ufc won't allow fedor to wander and won't give him the flexibility in his contract, i speculate this b/c fedor always says "i don't agree w/ the terms of ufc, or the terms of ufc's contract are too strict"
the problem i see is, if brock fights fedor outside of ufc (which ufc won't allow) it's not about money to put on the fight, it's about who collects from the fight? how do yo u split it if one company's bigger that the other? who's the undercard? and if brock is allowed to leave and fight whoever, than every ufc fighter is gonna want to restructure there contracts for more freedom...and if everyone's fighting outside there federation, it becomes boxing...one guy has 4 belts from 4 leagues...
if this happens you can forget about ufc going network (cbs, fox etc) there goal now is to become so large and mainstream that you are either ufc/wec or your nobody...you have to be one league to go mainstream (ex: nfl got huge when they became unified)
-
The highest ppv's the ufc has ever had utilizing former Pride fighters, sponsorships through the roof, apparrel and product lines booming, so yes in effect a third tier business man has made money
ditto...ufc can make more money in the long term but promoting one dominate league than they could if they have leagues all over...it is the quickest route to going mainstream, the farther they distance themselves w/ the problems of pride, the better...there is too much sponsorship and brand power in one league than there is in multiple leauges...thats why wec was purged of its heavier classes and is being promoted as the league of small fighters and fast paced fights
