the same, except they are 100 times stronger, more athletic, and weight about 250 pounds.  A running back like barry sanders, or emmit smith (in their primes) would have made these guys look like 5 year old candy-stripers.

Famine was the main reason many left. Its endearing to think how everyone is proud to have some irish blood in them though.

Thats a great song wavelength!

Also basically all of the USA is immigrants- trace your ancestors far enoughback they were slaves, irish farmers, european mill workers etc

You know they have alot more rest periods in american football, rugby is a much more flowing game and more enjoyable to watch, also the players don't wear helmets and pads which also makes it better to watch.

Rugby is more flowing and easier to watch follow - but I havent watched much NFL so i may be biased. I am sure if we had NFL over here that many would turn to that instead of rugby and be as good.

They might be stronger/fatter/bigger, but the majority of the NFL wouldn't be able to hack it playing rugby.  Being blocked wearing a helmet, neck brace and shoulder pads can hurt, try doing it without any protective gear at all.  Rugby players = Double hard.

Honestlyits so alien and not played reallyanywhere in world but USA and Canada it would take toolong to learn a whole new game.

Kinda like saying a lacrosse or baseball player could play hurling or tennis. Tools are fundamentally the same but the difference is incredible.

This is somwhat true.  Most rugby players are required to have a more all-round game, but I think the UK/Ireland doesn't put anywhere near the level of focus on sports in schools that you do in the States.  It's one of the things that I wish we could adapt and use over here.

This is true, but also the great Arabic libraries in Spain that contained Arabic editions of Roman Books were translated by Jewish and Catholic scholars in a collaboration.  The Jews sat and read the books aloud and Catholic monks would  write down what they said in Latin.

Yes, indeed. There are very few acts that have had the longevity of Van. I'm thinking Neil Young, Joni Mitchel and Van, and only Neil is still making new fresh music. Look at the end of the day they're different sports...people like to compare them because the skill sets are somewhat similar. But it's like comparing Rugby Union and League, its silly, the different requirements of the sport mean you cant just learn the rules and go from there. You have to change physique, your fitness needs to be of a different type, sometimes you need to bulk or lean...Trust me if NFL dudes had to lift in Lineouts and actually scrum, as well as being able to pass and run like todays props (all of whom are at least 270lbs) you wouldnt see guys weighing 320, they'd need to cut back to 280 or 270. Likewise to play football a Rugby prop would have to bulk up. As for Barry Sanders, he'd have to learn how to kick, pass and defend...you cant compare the two.

I say they're both great sports, and tough as shit...as I found out to my cost while playing!

I forgot how good Lomu was, people said he just a battering ram, but he had pace agility and great vision as well. To be honest I think now the game has been professional for some time the battering ram aspect of Lomu's game would be somewhat negated, but he'd be first on any team sheet for me. He revolutionised the game

Roma Driven Out Of Northern Ireland
It seems that the Loyalist racists have finally gotten their way and have driven the Roma out of Northern Ireland. Despite claims by the Police Service of Northern Ireland that the violence directed against the Romanian families wasn't sectarian, the latest round of Combat18 text and e-mails doing the rounds on the Loyalist estates prove different.

The Roma are a people that have survived centuries of persecution across Europe and have been subjected to numerous pogroms especially in Romania. That they have now chosen to return to a land where they have always been treated as second (if not third) class citizens, rather than remain in Belfast and continue to face the racist violence of recent months, says much about the state of Ulster society.

Following the fall of the Iron Curtain and the demise of the Communist governments that had largely kept the lid on the centuries-old endemic anti-Roma racism, an upsurge in racist persecution in the 80's and 90's drove large numbers of the Roma community into Western Europe. In the UK they faced widespread hostility and long waits for their asylum applications to be processed (s19D of the Race Relations Act 1976 specifically allowed discrimination against Roma in the asylum process that continued to exist until the 2000 Act was passed) but following Romania's accession to the EU in January 2007, they became European citizens and therefore had a legal right to remain.*

Many chose Northern Ireland and, with the sectarian troubles in the province, the right-wing bigots in the Loyalist groups had their hands too full hating the Fenians to bother with the Roma. But the end of the 'Troubles' put an end to that and the racists had to look for new more 'acceptable' targets. In 2004 there were estimated to be around 450 race hate crimes in the country. In the past 12 months this has risen to 1,000.

In April this year Poles were driven from their homes in Belfast in a series of coordinated attacks by Loyalist youths times to coincide with a Northern Ireland-Poland World Cup football match. This follows attacks against the Chinese and Slovak communities in the preceding years. Now it is the Roma and, with the electoral successes of the BNP and the growth of far-right splinter groups, it can only get worse.

*In Italy for example, the Roma have also come under increasing attack and the Berlusconi regime has introduced blatantly racist legislation, the likes of which has not been seen since the days of the Blackshirts

I only liked them before Michael Flatley went his separate way and the only show of theirs I've seen was their debut in Dublin. Absolutely stunning performance that disproves the fallacy that perfection is unattainable.

Michael Flatley was born on the south side of chicago and was a golden gloves champion in boxing.

Then he went to Ireland, got drunk, and look what happened to him...  :'(

Irish women have very light skin, beautiful square faces, pretty green eyes, and are very loyal...but possessive.
Its good to get a girl who is mixed like Italian and Irish, Spanish and Irish( Wonder Woman). This way you add curves to and already beautiful girl.So Irish women some times have Flat asses, if you add Italian or Spanish its gives them curves.
