I met dex at the ASC, total dick. I have this vibe that he isnt real with his fans in the sense that he doesn't really care about them just the $10 they have for the autograph and being a respectable represenative of the sport is totally out of the question for this man. In my opinion, dex is nothing more than someone that has a natural track and field physique that has done and abused a shit load of anabolics and such. When this man retires he will wither away rather fast as it is all artificial muscle and not the hard earned muscle that stays with you with time.
I know you guys know alot of dirt and gossip about alot of pros but the one thing I keep hearing is that dex beat up his girlfriend. Is this the same girl friend that was kidnapped or is this a new one? Does anyone know the story of him beating his girl in detail or where it came from?

ain't no saints in this sport. Ain't no saints in any sport. Dex is the top bodybuilder in the world. beyond that, to many it doesn't matter what he chooses to do in his free time.

and as such, he should be someone that fits an example as far as behavior
and attitude for other bodybuilders around the world ,as an example for others to follow and look up to as part of the bodybuilding lifestyle.
I cringe at the thought of some people who know nothing about bodybuilding mention to me that " isnt the top guy in your sport a woman beater and an arrogent asshole?" because he/she heard about it through whatever means. As far as physique wise, the man does possess a beautiful physique other than his pathetic calves, and flat forearms, and I could care less that he blows his money on Jordans, flat screens, and cars ::)
Dont even get me started about his acceptance speech with Arnold at the ASC 08. I was embarressed and I couldn't believe what he said. It's like Tiger Woods thanking Gatorade for him winning.

And I know that every sport has its creeps but I just expect more from someone that is suppossed to be the "best" bodybuilder in the world. I guess I expect other than the volume of drugs he is putting into himself that that would have to give him an incentive to train harder and with that comes self discipline and self respect and through that I was just hoping for a little bit of class and...... intelligence?I guess thats the word I'm looking for.
Back to the subject: does anyone know more about the tale of him beating his girl?

I don't like it that many of the top guys in the sport have records or do shady stuff. it's not good for the industry as a whole. I wish there were a lot of Tom Brady's and Michael Jordan's for kids to look up to. And every now and then, you do see the good side of things. There was a story about a small BBing show donating a bunch of $ to a deaf school recently. Stuff like that is great.
in the end, it's a selfish sport, and egotistical activity. Spending hours each week to look better in the mirror. But it is what it is. Lots of NFL players do some pretty gangster stuff. I dont think about that when I watch the game on Sunday. Michael Vick did some horirble stuff, but I'd sure rather watch him scramble on sunday than a Trent Dilfer (mediocre player with clean image).
If I want inspiration to train harder, I'll following BBing. If I want role models, I'll look elsewhere than the sports world.

Yeah. Some guy was waiting in line for a picture/autograph and when it came to his turn the camera wouldn't shutter or flash and Dexter made that comment.

Everybody knows that Dexter is one of the most hated people in the bodybuilding industry. I know MuscleTech reps read Getbig so hopefully they wander in here and finally get it. He's a prime sonofabitch and he can stick his Air Jordan get-up up his black ass.

Everyone one involved in bodybuilding pro or not, natural or not, male or female, is not someone that should not be anyones role model. Everyone involved in that sport or any pro sport for that matter are very self centered and egotistical people that are into drugs, sex, and power of some sort. Catch 22, I guess if your in bodybuilding and living a fucked up life and want to be a pro at it, I guess you could pick some Pro to idoloze and become a greater pice of shit. So don't get upset when they don't act like a normal persons role model such as a charity volunteer, your pastor, fire fighter or police officer. Just look to yourself and realize, they are just better at being you than you are.
