Hey, it could happen ;D

I think that Forrest matches up well with Spider, Forrest is alot like Hendo. Hendo did well against Spider, just got caught.
Forrest is strong enough to get inside Spider but the clench is what seem to be Forrests achilles (what I have seen). Spider is going to have to practice what he preaches as being "ahead of the current fighters game & hit but don't be hit" routine in this one. I see a K.O. in the 2nd by Spider.
Forrest says hes a different fighter now then he used to be as far as full onslaught but I have only seen that maturity in the Rampage fight.
-
Silva by first round ko.
-
forrest is gonna get his nose knee'd through the back of his head

Agree. Just doesn't have that level of talent.
-
forrest is fucked
-
Possible, but not probable. I like Forrest, would love to see him win, just don't see it happening. Too wild with his stirking, and takes a lot of punishment. You do that against Anderson and you will go to sleep.

bump for the truth right there!!!!! !!! Silva's gonna tie him up in the clinch, just like he did Franklin and his knees are gonna change the look/shape for Griffin's face.
-
I love Forrest and I would love to see him knock Silva's orangutan head sideways and be victorious. Unfortunetly, Silva is too talented, too fast, too skilled and way too experienced.
On the bright side, we get to see a highlight reel type knock out. I doubt Silva will pull his tap dancing routine against Forrest.

mark my words.forrest by first rd submission.I'll make sure I bump this thread to gloat about my epic prediction...
-
Forrest has a chance, but silva is way ahead on the talent card.
-
he always has a fighters chance.
-
I think if anyone is going to be able to beat Anderson it's Forrest. He has a wild style and that is what I think will be a good match up to beat Anderson, Forrest is a counter striker and has no fear of coming forward. This might be the time we see Anderson lose....

I agree, though I just think Forrest will take too many shots trying to make his own count

that's a ballsy call...
I'll give ya props for going with your gut feeling...
I try to be as objective as I can when I think about fights, but I just think (stylewise) that this is the worst possible match up for a guy with forrests slow, forward plodding, style...
it's gonna be like Bruce Lee beating on Butterbean ...
we'll see !
However.......
I will be rootin for Forest on this one !
-
Forrest doesn't stand a chance.
-
You guys are all underestimating forrest on this one. This won't be a short ko fight. I actually see forrest taking this to the third round and overwhelming Silva with his conditioning. It will be long and bloody.
Forrest by decision. :P
-
Silva didn't manage to end the fight against Thales Leites and that was a pretty lame fight, i think Forrest is way better than Leites... but won't be good enough for the Spider.
-
:D

;D ;D ;D

Forest has a punchers chance - thats about it.
Silva has better striking/ground game along with pretty good cardio. Forest may be able to stretch it out to round 3....maybe.....before he gets Ko'd or submitted. He's a tough guy but on paper he doesn't beat Silva.
There's always that punchers chance................

Forrest has a very underated ground game. He beat Roberto Traven when he was still a purple, subbed Shogun, another Black Belt. Cameron, his BJJ coach is well known in the SoCal BJJ scene, and a good competitor. Forrest has a dangerous guard and is good from top. Anderson uses the anaconda from within closed guard, which is not an attacking position, but a stalling one. Anderson clearly has the striking and clinch advantage, Forrest is better at wrestling, BJJ, size and strength. Hope they have a good gameplan for Forrest, I'd love to see him win.

How'd this work out for you?

no 8)

I felt pretty ho hum about the fight since I first heard about it. I didn't even bother to get together with my buddies as I usually do for UFC events. I watched it streaming. I was surprised at how many people actually thought this would be a close contest.

There is a big difference between "rooting" for someone, and declaring that he will win.

Settle down Martha don't get your panties all wrinkled. I actually put a bet on Forest to win cause I too almost always rout for the underdog. He came to our booth and hung out at the Olympia a couple years ago and I thought the guy was great and decided no matter who he is fighting I would be routing for him. Even though I felt very strongly Silva was going to kill him, I was just hoping for a lucky shot. I love the Lakers too
