I was watching WM 10 the other day, and that Yoko-Lex match is awful. 85% of it is yoko sweating on him.
-
I'll have to have a think on that one. Currently, anything involving Khali, and most of the Diva's matches bore me.

Agreed. Mind you, Lex can't wrestle for shit. I watched the match he had with Perfect at WM9 and Perfect basically carried him the whole damn match.

Hennig was one of those guys who could do that, and he did it (no pun) perfectly.
I’ve seen a couple of boring matches, but one that currently comes to mind is Rick Rude vs. Jake Roberts at WM VI.
Jake was a great character, but this match was an exhilarating seesaw of seated chin locks and standing chin locks.
Even the naive Fed fans of the 80’s (me) caught on and a “Boring” chant began to bellow from the innermost depths of the Skydome.
It made the previous Mania’s Red Rooster/Bobby Heenan popcorn match look like Dynamite vs. Sayama.

What's sad about that is i've seen jake roberst vs. dibiase at the old maple leaf gardens in a house show match leading up to WM6 and the match was amazing.

Although some people call them "classics", some of the Flair vs Steamboat matches were nothing but an hour long snooze fest of arm drags, chinlocks, sleeperholds and abdominal stretches.

Blasphemy!

Not to a true wrestling fan they are not.

I don't have the patience to sit down and watch 60 mins of cat and mouse that only ends with a small package or flying body press. It was basically a 5 minute bout with 55 mins of rest holds in between.
Some like that. I don't.
-
Additionally Giant Gonzales was so horrible I had to leave the room when he was on.

You’re not alone.
Most fans are not fond of this type of performance anymore.
Nothing wrong with that – times change.
If the product wants to survive, then it must also change.
That’s simply a matter of adaptation & survival.

are you talking about Jake vs Rude at WM4 at trump plaza? the WM6 skydome match was Jake vs Dibiase for the Million dollar belt (which Dibiase won by countout if I recall)

I am humbled by your geek-like power of recall.
It was indeed WM IV.
-
I remember because I was there at the skydome, right under the jumbotron.
I was in grade 6 back then, I think.

Do you live in or near Toronto?
Did you also attend WM 18?
-

He was hired basically for his sheer size / height. Apparently he is wheelchair bound right now.
-
They also used him in an episode of Thunder In Paradise – yeah, I used to watch it.
There weren’t too many guys who could tower over Undertaker like he did.
Did he not also have a brief stint in WCW some time after WM 9?

No...it was before WWE and he was known as the "Yehti"

Someone should notify Khali of this...

Exactly.

yes, I was there for Hogan Rock as well. crazy crowd reaction. Mr. Perfect was in the dark match at the beginning.
I have seen a live RAW taping in Toronto as well, as well as many house shows in the late 80's and early 90's..
some of the main event matches at these shows were:
Hogan-bad news brown
Hogan Haku
Warrior Andre in a cage
Warrior and Texas Tornado vs Rude and Perfect
Hogan vs Perfect

I do and I did :)
I went to both WM6 & WM18. Loudest reaction I ever heard was at WM18 when Hollywood Hogan NWO cam out in his Black and White gear with feather boa while Jimmy Hendrix "Icon" track blared through the speakers....70 thousand people went nuts even though he was heel.
-
yeah, but the Hulk Up was even crazy.
also when Hogan brought out the belt to whip the Rock.
crazy crowd and I was glad I was part of it.
total mark out for Hogan
I was totally pissed Hogan lost though, given the crowd reaction. he should have won. Rock basically disappeared after that.
-
Dare i say, the Hart-Michaels Ironman match is an overrated snoozefest?
-
Listen to the reaction when he comes out

What did you think of the Lesnar/Angle IM match on Smackdown several years back?
-

totally agree. Boring as hell. I think the Rock-HHH and Angle-Lesnar blow it out of the water.
-
Personally for my taste, I would rather watch an "attitude era" match like Austin vs The Rock. Some great stuff there.
-
Luger vs Flair was always a boring one too.

Their NWA matches in 1987 we not that bad to watch. Watchable by my standards. I hated Lugar in the WWE in 1993-1995. He really stunk up the air with his matches.
