i heard some people got paid coupel of grands for a show!!

 I never heard anything like that. I know alot of arm-pulling and bribery went on with the 'Battle for Guests' wars but nothing major. PBW used to straight-up get shady with their ' don't do their show do ours ' tactics.

 I think it was Nasser or Tom Platz that told S.Ed that PBW & MD were trying to bribe the other away from..the other.

Why is this a shock?
Everyone usually pays guests.. at least if they are famous

it's understandable if MD has to pay guests to appear on the show now that Flex and Shawn run it
who in their right mind who be interviewed by those two nit-wit negroes for free
