cooome on baby

He won't do it - he's had a hard week and is tired. Breaking the 100m took too much out of him and he's got no-one in the final to push him. Tyson Gay's pulled out. Only Wallace Spearmon poses any sort of threat and he's nowhere near.
I'm saying he'll clock 19.60.

Hes gonna SMASH the WR
-
The crazy thing is, it doesn't even look like he's trying. I forget which event it was last year but he jogged the last 25% of it and almost set a world record.
-
his 9:58 for teh 100m dash will stay as teh WR for a very long time

Until he smashes again when he feels like it.

He won't - mark my words - when he got 19.31 in Beijing last year he utterly caned it down the track and was lucky to beat Johnson's record IMO - he had to do it that way cos he got slated for jogging to break the 100m world record. He's too tired. Even Johnson himself has said he won't do it tonight.

Whats even more insane is that his 100m WR is 9.58sec
And now his 200m record is 19.19..
If you take his 100M record times two 9.58 X 2 = 19.16
So he is basically holding his CRUSHING 100m WR Pace for 200 fucking Meters.

you don't calculate it this way, the 200m race has a running start on the last 100m.
If he can actually maintain his top speed of his 100m WR and carry it into the last stretch of the 200m, he will go below 19secs ( which is TOUGH).

It's still more complicated than that.
In 100m they reach top speed in 60m-80m split. 200m is run differently, they don't accelerate as aggressively as in 100m.

Also in 200 meters they run the curve. That slows them down a little.

Yes it does but they get a running start at the last 100.
Awesome performance.
Question: Would the 200m be quicker if they ran in a straight line? Perhaps they should. Bolt would prob go under 19.
