Not a stupid question.
I prefer fast acting complex carb sources as well.
If you’re looking in the grocery store, consider cornstarch.
It’s very similar to the popular waxy maize.
About two years ago I got some advice from a supplement company executive who told me of a double blind study they conducted using a leading brand WM product & plain old Argo cornstarch.
Guess which one produced better results. ;)
I’ve never tried or talked to anyone who’s used potato starch, but I’ve sporadically heard of people using it.
There are a lot of trainers who’ve used waxy and went back to dextrose.
Try some different ones and see which you like best.
