i.e, is it not worth wasting my money on 'yet another' 'claimed' good supplement, or could it have positive affects?

I sometimes take a pre-workout energy drink that contains beta alanine. I honestly don’t feel any noticeable difference aside from the caffeine boost.
Maybe it’s under-dosed, or maybe I need to take it consistently for a longer period of time to saturate my system.
Many folks report a good “feeling” when taking it pre-workout - a tingling of sorts.
As far as building muscle goes, there are quite a few other things I would spend my money on first.

Beta-Alanine is a good product, especially if you also take creatine.
take about 4g every day, and you will see improvements over 3 months, then the maximum level of saturation is reached i think.
i take 4g pre-WO or 2g pre, 2g post.
On non-WO days i take two in the morning and 2 before going to bed, as it helps improving your sleep as well.
