THOUSAND OAKS -- A 65-year-old man had his finger bitten off Wednesday evening at a health care rally in Thousand Oaks, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff's investigators were called to Hillcrest and Lynn Road at 7:26 p.m.
About 100 protesters sponsored by MoveOn.org were having a rally supporting health care reform. A group of anti-health care reform protesters formed across the street.
A witness from the scene says a man was walking through the anti-reform group to get to the pro-reform side when he got into an altercation with the 65-year-old, who opposes health care reform.
The 65-year-old was apparently aggressive and hit the other man, who then retaliated by biting off his attacker's pinky, according to Karoli from DrumsnWhistles.
The man took his finger and walked to Los Robles hospital for treatment.

Yes, that's right. The angry, 65 year old anti-Obama guy walked into the pro-Obama crowd and started punching people. one of them bit his finger. He left and walked to the hospital, where he was promptly given free health care to fix the finger.
He is 65 years old. He deserevs free care. However, the other people in the room, whether they are 4, 24, or 64, do not deserve free health care. Got it?
-
Did he have insurance is the big question.
-
Well, next time you might want to think about who your fucking with.
-
:(
-
which one did the biting? the pro-health care 65 year old or the anti-health care 65 year old?

Anti-health care, anti-obama guy is 65.
he was mad, so he walked into the protesters and started punching them.
One of the punched, pro-Obama guys bit his pinky off.
-
You have one group of people wanting free crap from the other. The other group sees the other group as trying to rob them and ration their care.
You put those two groups together is there any doubt why fights break out?
-
So why isn't the 65 year old on the death panel list or whatever? I mean, he's missing a finger. And he's old.

Don't worry. He will.
In the meantime, if we can't kill them with death panels we will just eat them instead.

Gee 240 thats not really what happned is it...the Pro Obama guy did the biting and fled......typical.
California authorities say a clash between opponents and supporters of health care reform ended with one man biting off another man's finger.
Ventura County Sheriff's Capt. Frank O'Hanlon says about 100 people demonstrating in favor of health care reforms rallied Wednesday night on a street corner. One protester walked across the street to confront about 25 counter-demonstrators.
O'Hanlon says the man got into an argument and fist fight, during which he bit off the left pinky of a 65-year-old man who opposed health care reform.
A hospital spokeswoman says the man lost half the finger, but doctors reattached it and he was sent home the same night.
She says he had Medicare.
O'Hanlon says the attacker fled but authorities have a good description.
THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.

HH6, what is being said around you about the vaccine? Do most of the guys want it? Are there any concerns about it or are they/you relieved you'll be getting it?
-
hahahahah Good work HH6
-
I heard a guy on the radio that said he found the finger and took it to the nearest hospital. He confirmed that it was bitten off of a Health Care Reform opponent.
I think he also said that after dropping off the finger they went back and the chomper was still there.

We have a Doc and nurse in our class and I asked just that today. He basically broke the whole H1N1 virus down and said that the reason this thing is so bad or has a high morbidity rate is that unlike the average "flu season" viruses, this one is still active in the warmer months and they're worried that it will explode during the winter. He said this vaccine is no different then the flu shot that you or I get during the winter. I generally don't get sick so I've avoided the shot periodically, but I'll get this one as it's really no different then the regular flu shot. Besides..if I'm putting all of u people in camps, I don't want to get sick ;D

Don't pull me into the camp! :'(
Thanks for the answer :) I have never had a flu shot but my w/o partner is freaking me out. Also, I either have a cold right now or allergies or something and it's a little unnerving for the first time..plus we may be flying on a large airplane (breathing lots of diff. peoples fumes :P ) next month...I think I'm starting to get (more) paranoid :-\

Haha!! I could wear the pig ones on fat days and the center one when I am making some fava beans and a nice chianti.
-
The last I heard, people are getting scared that now schools are back from summer break.
The virus will spread very quickly.
I don't much care though.
Unless you are old, very young or immuno compromised you will most likely pull through.

Neurologists urged to watch for rare swine flu vaccine side-effect
Tuesday September 01, 2009,
The last time the United States had a swine flu scare, mass vaccinations led to an even bigger worry that the injections might have caused a few dozen cases of a rare disease called Guillain-Barre syndrome, which paralyzes parts of the nervous system
As the nation prepares for another round of 2009 H1N1 flu shots this fall, the federal government is urging neurologists to keep an eye out for new cases of Guillain-Barre.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Academy of Neurology have asked all neurologists to report new cases of Guillain-Barre in people who get vaccines this fall and winter to the Food & Drug Administration's Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System. Guillain-Barre makes people's limbs tingly and weak, and in rare cases it kills people.
Dont forget your shot HH6 !!
