No Clear Cut Decision here!
Melvin has been Harder and more separated ala last year's Mr. O finish.
Gustavo made a great Comeback! Waist was smaller and tighter, Quads a bit down in size but grainy Hard!
Hide impressive showing not as "Grainy Hard" but very complete and balanced!
Troy served notice but from the rear and lower body he will have a fight on his hands!

Gustavo looks awesome -- he simply outsizes everyone. Melvin looks smooth from the back, I'd place Alves ahead of him, no question.

I really like Troy there but it's too bad about the calves. To have such a superb physique balancing on these skinny pegs really throws everything off. That's why I don't think all pros are using synthol in varying degrees as often claimed because his
calves would be a prime target.

I'm sure Troy has shot up his calves quite a bit. Look at other pics of him. It's just that it doesn't work well in some body parts.

How I see it:
1, Alves: in a class of his own here.
2, Hideta: very good conditioning, good proportions and aesthetics
3, Gustavo: good conditioning and size, lacking in legs though.
4, Melvin: not his best day at all.. wtf

It's a no-brainer.
Look at the quads and triceps. Gustavo is dryer than everyone else. seems the judges wanted condition over muscle and shape. Gus wins.

Gus has good hams, but from the front and back, was clearly not as dry as hide, and his shape was much worse than Troy. Troy's conditioning was actually very sharp. I think he is very unlucky

Who was actually second? I read somewhere it was Hide but Flex says it was Troy. Also, how did Jose Raymond not sweep the 202. From pics, he looks like the easy winner. Not too mention i think he could have place high in the open show.

WTF, Melvin's waist is smaller than Hide's. Look at the front double bi and the rear double bi...Mel still has that wasp waist. If he nails his conditioning for the Mr. O, he will be place pretty well. Shame that his arms have gone done.

thanks, i can't read---Hide got a HUUUUUUGE Gift---Mr. Hide shall now be known as THE GIFT (not Phil Heath). Troy and Melvin should have placed higher. Yes, Melvin was not as tight as he has been in the past, but his shape and front and back double bi is better than Hide's, plus his waist is smaller. Hide is now starting to look awkward and losing whatever lines he used to have.

Badell, one a top-tier Olympia competitor (3rd in both 2004 and 2005), placed a disappointing 11th at the Arnold Classic in March. But he rebounded in New Jersey by taking the stage in his best condition since finishing second to Phil Heath at the 2008 Ironman Pro.
Hidetada Yamagaishi placed second while Troy Alves placed third to round out the top three. Melvin Anthony, the 2008 champion who entered as the odds-on favorite, placed fourth in the biggest surprise of the contest.
In the 202 class, Flex Lewis earned the second 202 win of his young career. Lewis now enters the 202 Showdown on Olympia Weekend looking to improve on his third-place finish from a year ago. Jose Raymond and Clarence placed second and third, respectively.

flex lewis was ripped,back good detail,but jose raymond schooled that class with size,lewis has great legs and known for that i guess he scaled back to get upper body to match. i guess it worked ,but raymond's legs made his look small.raymond could push henry on size and thickness.
